May Aims

So hi...

So er, I'm a little late with this post. BUT I do have a good-ish reason, my Wifi went ka-put at the beginning of the month and I've had no Wifi at my flat for the last few days, it’s been weird and all kinds of boring yet productive at the same time. But my FOMO was definitely through the roof which really sucked. ANYWAY, New month new goals, kinda. Let’s get on with it.

Eat well and Exercise: So I mentioned going to the gym with my flatmate before, and well it just hasn’t been happening, so that was a fail. I'm starting to think I might brave going alone, as I'm often awake in the middle of the night these days and a little gym visit may do me good to tire me out enough to sleep and get some exercise in. Don’t get me wrong I have been exercising, but not nearly as much as I’d like.

Revise fortnightly if not daily: As much as I would like to believe in myself to revise daily, I'm being realistic with myself to know that probably won’t happen. But I think I could definitely get myself to revise at least every other day. Exams for my second year at Uni are literally round the corner and I need to get my butt in gear.

Listen or read the morning news: I really made the efforts to read and listen to the news more often a few months back, but I have kind of fallen out of the habit and I’d like to get back into it, It’s nice to just know what’s going on in the world and it’s interesting to.

Continue Streaming: So I've been live streaming on a site called twitch. I'm planning a separate post to really explain it but it’s been a ton of fun. The community and friendships I've built on twitch have been amazing and I enjoy streaming so much. Even if I'm just a little bit rubbish at it. I mean I can only go up right?

Continuing learning and developing my art: I've really been pushing my art out in April, a cause of this has definitely been the live streaming but I feel like I'm getting more ideas and itching to draw more often and it’s amazing to look back at pieces and already feel myself progressing. I'm also learning more and more about how to get the most out of Paint Tool SAI, which has really effected the quality of my art as well. I'm looking forward to keeping up this productive streak.

Experiment with my make-up: As I mentioned in my April round up, I've really fell in love with make up again, I was starting to get really lazy with my make-up. I just felt that my make-up looked a little rubbish no matter what I did, and it felt a little pointless putting it on. It may have been due to buying some new make-up, or that I had randomly decided to look through my stash and try on some older products. But either way I'm loving doing my make-up and trying out different colours and looks out. I want to keep up with this re-found passion.

Embrace life and Opportunities: when I went to Ireland and travelled alone by plane for the first time, I had planned to write a post about travelling alone and making the most of life, but never got around to it funnily enough, though I'm still planning to do that type of post. But either way I want to push myself more, to try and make the most of each day, to do something each day that I can look back on at the end of the day and say ‘Go me’. I just feel more and more that I'm never getting any younger, and why delay plans that I could be making now?

And those are all my Aims for May, quite a variety I think, and all pretty doable aims I think. The only thing that’d stop me achieving them are my number one enemies, Laziness and lack of motivation, though my motivation has been great… So it’s more just my never ending laziness.

April Aims

So hi...

So April although lacking in social plans, should be a really good month in terms of personal development and aims. I'll be finishing uni and starting gym and swimming and generally doing a lot day to day. As such a lot of my aims are health and fitness related.

Gyming it with Kate: As I said In my weight post (HERE) I'll be starting the gym that's across from me with my flatmate and I'm aiming to go at least 3 x a week.
Keep a strict budget: Once my third installment of student finance comes through a large portion of it will immediately be put aside to pay for rent and bills throughout summer, because of this I want to be strict with my money so I don't waste money on food or things I don't need.
Slow the Drinking-Try go dry: I've noticed that this Uni year I don't go even a week without drinking and I thought I would try to cut this down a little, To better my spending habits and see the effects of my possible weight loss
Look for a Summer job: Kind of tying in with the budget aim, I'll have a lot of money put aside for rent and bills and not all that much for personal spending, I'd like to do a fair bit in summer including book a tattoo, and that shit needs money! 4 months off also can get really boring honestly.
Start Planning volunteering options:As I'm nearly done with my second year of university I really want to get some volunteering in prisons under my belt to prepare me for after uni.
Complete 5/6 Art Pieces: this one is a kinda regular aim as I want to hit a personal quota of 5 pieces a month.
Start streaming: Watching so many streams has made me want to do it myself with my art work or games, Not expecting to get anything from it, but it's a lot of fun and relaxing.

The Monthly Round up: March

So Hi...

March was probably the first month I've felt didn't rush by before I could grasp what was happening, it was like baby bears porridge, It was just right!
The start of the month was a little stressful as it was a bit of a assessment period with 2/3 hand in dates for my uni assignments, but after that was over I got to go to Ireland for a short weekend trip which started off my Easter holidays.
The Easter holiday was pretty good to me as well, I went to see the Deadpool film with friends which was amazing and went to a trampoline jump arena which was really cool but so damn tiring. like watching the kids so full of energy while a group of 20 year olds keep stopping for breaks must have been amusing to the workers.
Character Artwork Reilia// With my Sister and Mum in Dublin on Paddy's day
// Twitch community byes // Ireland make-up selfie// Cutely dressed up horse in Dublin

Art wise I'm really content as well, it's a slow steep journey to improvement and being actually proud of my work but I'm happy with the direction I'm going.
I've been thoroughly enjoying watching streams on twitch as well, Mostly gaming streamers but there's a few creative streamers I've been enjoying as well. My favourite is Ray (BrownMan) who formerly worked at RoosterTeeth, but the community is really great for twitch and chatting to different people from america and all over has been really interesting.
Night out selfies// Fluffy in the sun
//Night out pre-selfie//

I actually have no plans for April and as the month leading up to exam period and finishing up assignments I probably won't have much to say next round up, but we'll see!

How was your March?

Dublin Trip

So hi...

If you didn't know (I don't know how because I mentioned it everywhere) but i went to Dublin over the weekend for St. Patricks day to celebrate. I went with 9 other people, mostly friends and family and I was there a total of three days, Flying out early morning Thursday and coming back home in the evening on Saturday. It was short but sweet.

Now I ain't gonna lie, drinking was high up in the things to do list, so I didn't exactly get loads of photos but there was a few decent ones.

On paddy's day itself I was flying from Birmingham airport by myself and meeting the rest of the group in dublin, I'll be writing more about my experiences travelling alone another time!
After eventually all meeting up we headed to the hostel, which took a good 2 hours, we basically didn't know the exact way and the security and officers kept pointing us in different directions. Obviously when we actually found it, it was right in the first place we had walked around. We finally got to put our stuff away and headed out towards the Parade.
The amount of people was ridiculous, it was kinda amazing. Everyone was dressed up in some form, with some people wearing simple hats, to other dressed up in full green suits covered in shamrocks, it was amazing.
Because we had to be careful about packing, none of us had any accessories or hats from previous years so found a shop to buy new ones, me, my mum and my sister ended up getting matching hats at 5 euros each.

Inappropriate accessories....
The parade itself was pretty cool, I think the Luton one is more impressive in terms of outfits and the sheer size of it, but wither way it was still a good time. We didn't get any photos thought because of the amount of people. And I'm not going to lie that the rest of the day was spent visiting a variety of pubs and drinking and socialising. It was all a good time, though I have to say, the prices were ridiculous. I expected Dublin prices to be bad anyway but I'm pretty sure they were even more due to St. Patricks day, but I guess that is to be expected.

The day after, there was surprisingly no hangovers, just tiredness, the hostel we stayed at was pretty good, we had a whole 10 bed room to ourself so it was like a hotel, but the bed are never going to be as good as home ya know?
We spent the day doing a bit of shopping and in tourist fashion, we also visited the Guinness Factory and had the little tour, the place is absolutely massive and you get little sample Guinness going round and a voucher for a full pint at the top, I'm personally not a huge Guinness drinker but it was pretty cool.

How cute is this horse though.
I'm not ashamed to say that me, my mum and my sister then went back for a quick hour nap, it was so good.
For the afternoon we had reserved a table at a Thai restaurant for my sister as it was her birthday on the 16th so we decided to slightly delay the celebrations. It was my first time trying Thai food and it was pretty good, I wasn't feeling too well though and really wasn't very hungry so I couldn't appreciate it as much but it was still a lovely evening. To end it off we spent the rest of the evening in the pub attached to the hostel which had an amazing atmosphere and that's where we stayed until it closed.
The final day was pretty boring, mostly spent packing and then waiting around for our flights, we did go for a fry up however which was basically heaven.

That was pretty much the whole trip, I had the flight back and then enjoyed my own bed and having my flat to myself before returning to my home town the next day for easter.

How did you spend St. Patricks day? Have you gone away recently?

My Instagram Life 2#

So hi...

Another Instagram post here today!
The idea of these posts is to show what I've been posting and doing on instagram in terms of portraying how well life is going but at the same time get real with you and say the things that weren't so picture perfect that have happened. Super real, Super honest, that's these posts.

My instagram has kept the theme of food selfies and drawings like last month but with a few more selfies!
I've been feeling selfie strong the last few weeks, well it terms of my face anyway. Body wise I've been a bit down and have started changes to get a little healthier and lose weight, as currently I just can't say I'm happy.
My drawings have been progressing really well, the copic markers I've bought are amazing and I've starting to draw sketches and drawings the way I want first time without having to erase and re draw a 10000 times, it's been a great motivator and confidence booster.
The lack of drawings however has been due to assignment period, the last 3 weeks has been a big stress to hand in and complete three different assignments all within a very short amount of time from each other, the university didn't really plan it out very well and It's cause a load of stress for a number of students.
My sleep schedule has also been awful still, I'm either not sleeping or sleeping for an hour or so at random points in the day, it's to the stage where I'm planning to see a doctor about it as it's past the stage of normal, I was awake for nearly 40 hours without feeling too sleepy this week and it was very weird. (I'm also writing this at 5am, yay).
and that's my instagram life recently.

How has the last few weeks been for you?

Carry on Travel bag.

So hi...

So I'm going to Ireland for the weekend for paddy's day at the end of this week and I thought I would show what I'm planning to take along with me in my carry on bag.
Now because it's only a short flight from England to Ireland the flight itself will only last about an hour, so it terms of entertainment and things to refresh myself I don't really need all that much so the list is pretty short.

My Phone- Pretty obvious one here, I'll be travelling alone and meeting up with people once I leave the plane, so kinda need to know where they are!

Headphones- this is probably what I consider my most important essential to keep my entertained and just listen to music to drown out the sound of other people.

Wipes- Because dang, aeroplanes and airports be gross,  I at least want to have wipes to feel a little cleaner. I'll have antibacterial hand gel as well.

Make-up- I'm undecided about if I'll wear make-up to the airport, I may wear a minimal amount and then top up on my powder before getting off the plane as I'll immediately be doing things and on the go.

Diary- Just so I can do some scheduling and planning while I have the time.

Sketchpad- This will be my man source of entertainment to just practice and doodle with my music

Spray- Cause no one wants to be smelling in a small compact space.

Dry Shampoo- I'll probably have freshly washed air getting on the plane but the atmosphere and stuff on the plane I feel like will kill my hair, so why not give it a little refresh.

Moisturiser- This is for just before I get off the plane because the air in a plane is so drying and horrible for the skin.

Lip Balm- Like above the air in a plane be hella dry, my lips need protecting you know!

Glasses- I'm unfortunately one of those people that has to deal with travel sickness, especially when trying to read or do something. Its the worst in cars, so I may not be that bad on the plane but I thought wear my glasses while drawing might lessen the potential strain.

That's the main important things I'll be taking with me, as I said the flight will only be an hour so I don't need a lot of stuff. I'll be taking it all in my trusty backpack!

What are your travel on essentials?

Doodle Dumpin 2#

So hi...

Another doodle dump post today! and this time It'll be less drawings but instead of traditional pencil drawings these are digital ones I've done with my WACOM Bamboo tablet and Paint tool SAI. Most of these are Fan art from the game undertale as I'm a huge fan of the game and I find it so easy to draw and just get my creative juices flowing, it's also a great way to help my learn better techniques and ways to use paint tool SAI. Enjoy!

Any improvement advice on my work?

March Goals: 2016

So hi...

Damn man, we're already onto the third month of the year, feels like the year has only just started! With university especially it's felt like our assignments have come around just a little too quick!
But anyway, lets try and be positive and set myself some goals for march.
March goals. ft random doodle...

-Start listening to an educational or interesting podcast.
-I've been looking around at a few podcasts I could try and get into and I want to get into the habit of listening to them in the mornings and on the walks to and from uni, just as a way to stimulate my mind while doing other things and keeping myself informed about the world.
Podcasts I'm looking into:
-TED Talks
-BBC: The Inquiry
-More or Less: Behind the stats.
-It's a Crime: with Margaret Mclean
-Spark London
-Answer me this

-Continue walking to University.
  - I've been pretty good with this to be honest I at least walk to university 3 out of the 4 times I'm in, which I think is pretty good, I'd like to try walk everyday however, at least to uni, walking back however will be a slow process, we'll get there.

-Stay Engaged and up to date with University work.
-I've been pretty damn good this term with keeping on top of my work, I made a promise to myself to do the extra reading and make sure I do my notes because I'm not doing this course because I was forced, I do enjoy it. It's just like I have the high school mentality of education sucks because that was how everyone acts, when honestly, I love my course, although there are definitely boring parts, on a whole it's enjoyable. I want to keep enjoying & actually put in all I have to my work, because honestly, I don't remember the last time I gave my all.

-Complete 5-10 digital drawings and continue to improve.
  - I'm absolutely loving drawing digitally, with each piece I start or even complete I'm finding new ways to do things and experimenting with my art and how to improve it, it's so enjoyable and I am so inspired to keep creating.

-Find some sort of working sleeping pattern.
  - I've never been great when it comes to sleeping, I'm definitely a night owl by nature (Currently writing this at 5.23am, have yet to sleep) well maybe more an 'AM' Owl. I have always struggled to sleep, but recently it's becoming a whole new board game.
Although previously I wouldn't get to sleep easily, I would still get about 7 hours sleep at least, the last few months, well the whole of 2016 so far I'm lucky to get 4 hours sleep. Now I am someone who doesn't need much sleep, if I sleep too long I tend to feel super groggy and get headaches, but 2/3 hours is a bit too little. So I need to work out the best times and methods to get me into some form of sleeping routine.

-Read (Before bed).
 - I think this is forever on my goals as I am never quite satisfied with how little I read in my young adult years when I was such an eager reader as a kid who could easily read a decent sized book in a matter of days. I also don't want to read online either, as nice and convenient as laptops and the internet is, I like my pen and paper, I like written up notes and hard copies of books, it's just more appealing to me. So I want to return to the habit of my child hood of reading 5/6 book chapters a night.

Those are all my goals for march, they are all very personal development based and aren't really strictly for the month of march as much as they are goals to achieve and keep achieving at but that's all I'd like for this month.

What are your goals or aims for the month of March?

Monthly Round up: February 2016

So hi...

This year so far has been a bit of a whirlwind. It felt like it was a little slow the first week of January but so got going. February has definitely continued that trend, I think it's a mixture of the increased amount of work at uni in 2nd year as well as kinda waiting around for the holiday at the end of march and the foals gig at the end of feb.

It'a been a pretty decent month, I had a really hectic last week due to my bank cards being swallowed by an ATM for no reason and then a passport loss scare ( which I was able to find thank god!) but those issues were resolved and I'm feeling pretty positive! I got a few art pieces done, all fanart of the Game Undertale, which wasn't planned but oh well. I got my first qwertee haul ( here) and got some awesome clothes and the end of feb I went to a gig which is always fun.
Now we are onwards and upwards to March, I already have paintballing planned as well as the weekend trip to Dublin as well which I am literally so excited for!

How was your February? and what plans do you have for March?

Travel Wanderlust: World Map.

So hi...

I've mentioned a few times on the blog but I love travelling. I love the idea of backpacking around places and just taking in the different sites of the world. I got to go abroad a few times when I was younger but I don't remember many of them, and although they were nice, if was often family holidays without the opportunity to actually explore.
Last year I was lucky enough to go to Paris and Salou Spain. (Read about my Paris trip: part 1, 2, 3 & 4 Or my Spain trip here). The Paris trip was super touristy and I got to visit nearly all the big attractions and sites while the Spain one was more of a relaxed, on the beach sort of holiday.
This year I'll likely only be visiting dublin towards the end of march and that's it. Finances just aren't super great but that doesn't stop me dreaming.
I had a post last year on the top 10 places I want to visit (here) and looking over now and again is great motivation for saving money little by little to put towards trips to those places, but as well as that I bought myself a world map poster, and quite a decent sized one.

I love the idea of marking a world map with all the places you've been and all the places you want to go. When I eventually (and hopefully!) own my own place I'd actually like to have a feature wall in my bedroom or living room of a world map, The whole wall would be a map for me to place markers to places I want to go and Postcards from places I've been. But that's big dreams of the future, and for now my poster is good enough for me.
I currently have written the places I've been and remembered which isn't very many. They sit along the bottom part of the poster except my Dublin note as it's still to be done and sits up next to Ireland. The poster itself sits right in front of my desk, it's basically the main focus of my little uni room and inspires me daily.

I hope to get to the stage of confidently travelling alone as currently I've never been abroad alone. The closest is when I went to Paris last year, I was going as apart of the fashion society but knew No one who was going, it was great though and I still managed to make friends. But I'd like to make the full leap and completely travel alone. Though I would probably keep to Europe for my first few alone trips as I would still be able to rely on people speaking English if I was lost or in trouble, and once I'm comfortable I'll expand my travels.

A few travel goals I would like to achieve:
Roadtrip around America for a month or so.
Live in Japan.(and learn the language.)
Backpack around Europe.

Do you have Wanderlust? how to you keep inspired to travel?

A Positivity Journal

So hi...

Positivity is a big thing for me the last few months, trying to make my outlook on life more positive in all aspects of my life has been a long process for the last few months. I have a habit of getting down really quickly, it's not something I do on purpose but I tend to be quite sarcastic and sarky and it often seems like there is no much awful situations happening in the world, all this just makes it hard for me to sometimes see the nicer gestures and events in like. It's why my blog is called 'It's about the little things' as a personal reminder to myself as there's a lot of good in the world to and that I should learn to appreciate the smaller things in life.

So recently while I was buying notebooks and things for my uni lectures I was able to get a spare notebook as apart of a two for one deal, but I didn't really need it for anything and wasn't sure what to use it for.

Then the idea came to me to use it to note down favourite moments each month and plans to look forward to, as well as lists of my favourite things such as songs and quotes. And I thought to call it my Positivity journal. It's a little book that I can add to whenever something pops to mind, and to look back at and enjoy whenever I'm feeling a little bit down and the negativity of the world is feeling a little too much.

It's a decently big book which I've given each month every other page, with little lists in between and after a page for 2016 top memories and then bigger lists like 100 thing that make me happy and 101 favourite songs etc.

I'd definitely recommend having a place to just wrote down the small positive and happier moments in life.
Any lists you'd recommend for me? how do you stay positive?

Doodle Dumpin 1#

So Hi....

As I've mentioned before, drawing has become a huge part of my life recently. I've always been into drawings and my high school books used to be covered in little drawings and doodles, but it kind of died down in college and I couldn't really afford to draw in classes and I was often out or busy in evenings. But over summer, especially as I couldn't move much I got back into it, I also dusted off my WACOM tablet and have been practising my digital drawing skills.
Honestly I'm not that great, I'm really trying to study the way people move in day to day life and study anatomy at the moment, then I'm planning to work on backgrounds and landscapes, but it's all a learning curve, and I'm happy with my slow progress.

With this in mind I thought I would show off my doodles and drawings every so often, the regularity of these posts will really depend on how much drawing I get done and finished, I'm one of those people that end up with a load of unfinished pieces due to not liking the piece any more or just losing motivation. I've grouped a few of them together but there's still quite a few to show so this first lot will be mostly traditional doodles and the next will be a little mixture!

And yeah, Those are my current doodles, Any constructive criticism on how to improve or anything is always appreciated, as long as it's not just telling me how shit I am, dat's not nice.
Also if you like my drawings enough that you wanna keep up with them, I got DeviantART for that shizz.

It's all about the Confidence.

So hi...

Now aiming to be more confident with myself has been a personal goal for both August and September now, It's something I seriously struggle with and always have, but the last year has seen huge personal development in my life, the beginning of Uni really hit home with what I want out of life and a big part of that was to feel happy with myself, both in terms of who I am as a person and what I look like. I'm a chunky Monkey, At birth I was 7 weeks premature and super small, to the point I fit into my hands hand, Boy did that change quickly, I've always remembered being taller and bigger than the children around me.

But I'm not obese, I'm still lucky enough to be loved by friends and family, to be complimented on and for people to enjoy my personality and company. I have a pretty good life.
But I still over worry, think I'm disliked and think I'm ugly and a lot of other negative thinking that I just don't need to put myself through, with that in mind I wrote a few little bullet points I need to consider to up my confidence.

-Work with what you got:
Now I'm not model material and unlike my sister I can't eat 2 share packets of Haribo a night and still be a size 6, that's just not happening, but I have some nice features and aspects, I'm well blessed in the chest department, I love my eyes and I have the ability to do winged liner in seconds, So Although I hips are huge compared to my waist and I have mega chunky calf's from dance and swimming when I was younger, I just gotta work with it. it's not like the world ends because i can't have the perfect body, someone out there will love it and for now I just have to work on loving it myself.

Dress in what makes you feel and look good:
I think this is a huge think when it comes to confidence, unfortunately not everything suits me or looks great on me, and that's something I gotta work on, I'm currently in the process of a wardrobe overhaul which I'll have a few posts on but I'm working hard to find styles and pieces that both suit me and make me feel good, I still have yet to find a solid style or fashion sense that I feel represents me as a person and shows off my personality. I won't be able to do that immediately either its a slow and steady process with a lot of trail and error, but damn when I finish I'll be the most confidence sass master you ever seen.

Stop caring about others opinions about you:
I am so bad with this, It's so easy to compare and judge yourself based on other people, I try not to show it but people's opinions effect me so much, this year is the first that I'm stopped letting it, starting buying things because I want them and not trying to buy things just because someone else like it or looked good and ended up disappointed, I do have my own opinions ans at the end of the day, that's really all that matters.

Changes should be for your happiness:
If you decide to make a lifestyle change or are confronted with any choice, whatever option you chose should be made with your own happiness in mind, I'm a sucker for trying to please everyone, but that just ain't possible most of the time and if your own happiness is sacrificed or forgotten in the process, it's not worth it, you always know you'll have your own back and you can't rely on that from anyone else, It's also a good point that how much can you really help and make others happy if you yourself are miserable and not healthy, You come first, do things for you.

And most changes are gradual:
When it comes to big life changing choices, there are not a quick thing, most changes take time, and a decent amount of it. For example my bid to lose weight, as much as I'd likely it to be, isn't something that can be done in a week or two, it's a lifestyle change and takes time and a lot of dedication from myself, And that's just life, to uproot and change something you're used to is a big thing and means taking time.

Fake it till you make it:
Probably one of the biggest things and actually something I'm quite good at when it comes to confidence, If you're not confident, you don't have to let the world know that, Pretend. pretending to be confident for longer enough is likely to result in a small confident boost, I mean if your always acting like you're the baddest bitch ever, you'll eventually start to believe it and it won't be such of an act anymore. This is something I do a lot and although when alone I overthink and worry I know that it is me overthinking.

So those are my little rant points on confidence and generally things to improve your own happiness and life, I'm trying to implement these into my own life and hopefully you guys can get something out of it too.

Do you have confidence issues like me? any advice?

Turning 20. Exit Teenage years.

So hi...

Slight link up with the Bath Photo diary but since it was my birthday over that period I can't help it. SO I turned the big 2 0 on Saturday 15th August, officially no longer considered a Teenage of any sorts, and in all honesty I'm not sure how I feel about it.

It was the first Birthday which I spent away from home, although not because I wanted to, It really drove the adult thing home. I've always been used to being at home with my family, sitting on the floor opening presents and having takeaway or dinner of my choice, before going out with friends in the evening But this year I was in Bath celebrating a friends Birthday and getting back in time for my Birthday just wasn't an option. Saying that I definitely had an interesting week, the people I was with although they didn't all know me well, made a real effort to make me feel welcome and happy on my birthday, so I hardly felt like I was missing out, and I was able to shop and adventure the beautiful city that is Bath.

I Also got to meet Megan McMinn From Briar Rose and she was 10x as pretty s she looks in photos! even if she had just finished work. So that was an amazing little surprise. I may have gotten a little bit excited. Excuse my own looks!

My birthday was spent Shopping and happily wandering around before a reserved dinner and house party. I won't put many photos here as you can see most of them in my Bath Photo Diary. (Here)
When I returned home on the Sunday I also had a mini celebration with my family and got my usual takeaway of Chinese (obviously).

And even still this was not the end of my celebrations for turning 20... Thought things didn't go as planned. I was supposed to be going up to my new flat in Birmingham and having a house party but a series of event meant I couldn't, But even still I had a little 'get together' at my mums instead, it wasn't as WOW as I really wanted but it was nice and cute and ended things nicely.

So I'm officially an adult... whatever that means, and heading straight into my second year at Uni with my own flat and bills to do and lots more responsibilities, Wish me luck okay.

When is your birthday? has it already passed?

Foot Freedom! BRB

So hi....

I may be breaking my August everyday blogging shindig. I was finally able to get my cast off Monday and it's amazing how much it's brightened my mood. It was just in time for my Birthday and for a huge number of plans and activities, so although I lost a whole month of my summer I still get to celebrate and enjoy my birthday and a friends and do a load of things.

I still have to wear a boot, but this can be taken on and off and I can actually walk on my foot without pain both when wearing the boot and when not. I'll not push my luck too much though, I wouldn't want to have 4 weeks of freedom just to end back into the cast.
ANYWAY on to blogging, I'm actually going away tomorrow (12th) Till Sunday (16th) and I won't have my laptop, as such I won't be active. Although I do have posts planned I will unfortunately miss out blogging on the 12th as I have yet to decide a post idea that I've liked and although I want to blog everyday I really don't want these posts to end up as random bad ideas posted just for the sake of getting a post up.
In total with my current planned posts I will only be missing around 4 days in August, but maybe I'll be blessed with creativity, which would be grand.

Honestly as well as making you all aware of my potential gaps in posting this month I also just wanted to share the happiness I'm currently feeling, I have the boot off now and the freedom feels so great, I had a warm bath and not having to awkwardly hang my leg out the bath was great. It's weird because I've felt annoying with how much I've talked about my broken foot but when you can't move and you can't even be independent. There's nothing else for you, your life is that broken bone, You're best topic of conversion is how long till it's gone and how you did it. It literally was in every aspect of life for the last 6 weeks, that's a long time, If I had broken this n high school it would have been my whole summer which used to feel so long.

Well if I don't see you in tomorrow's post don't miss me too much. BRB.

My Dorm/Uni Room Essentials

So Hi...

It's not long now till I'm back off to uni for my second year, it feels like only a few weeks ago that I was panicking about moving into Accommodation for my first year! Although I'll have my own flat ( with 2 friends) I still have a few must have items to make it feel homely. I think this is super important for your first year! It can feel pretty bare and lonely when you first move in. New place, New room, it can be pretty scary!
So I thought I would write about my essentials to make my room feel homely and comforting!
This Idea was given to me by a brand called Parachute Home! They have a load of Quality bedding and cosy things to spruce up your room. May seem expensive but I definitely think it would last and feel super soft!
Check them out here: http://www.parachutehome.com

So My Dorm Essentials?

Bedding: The Bed is the easiest and probably most effective way to immediately make your bare room feel more you. putting on some pretty sheets and adding some pretty pillows give the room a little personality and shows off your tastes!

I have a number of different bed sets and like to swap them out, My favourites are this gorgeous skyline which I got from Asda And this super summery pineapple cover. So pretty.
Throws: Are another way to decorate a bed, Mine is a simple black flurry one from primark but I'd love to get a brighter patterned one!
Pillows: I only owe 3 pillows to decorate my bed with currently but I'm desperate to build up my collection by about 10x. The pillows I currently have as you can see are three cream ones, with one in the shape of a heart which, once again was from Primark. Sorry but Primark does pretty home stuff for super cheap.

Photos: Pretty obvious but sticking up photos is a great way to personalize your uni room. I decided to put mine up in a little heart pattern above my bed which was super simple but looked really nice.

Notice board: Most uni Accommodation rooms have some form of notice board, Usually with all the safety stuff pinned to it at the beginning, since you're not really allowed to have things up on the walls in most places it's great to use this to stick up any posters, I used mine for my planner poster I got at the uni Fair (Go to these it's freebie galore) and little tickets and a t-shirt from nights out, which I put photos on top of.

Little ornaments: This won't be for every one but having little cute nik naks on my shelves other than uni books and notes definitely made my room look better.

And those are my Dorm Essential for comfort. I may do a few more posts like these, Such as Essentials for the kitchen or bath room! I know a lot of people worry over what things to take to uni.
Did or do you have thing to bring that homely feel to a new room?
