Monthly Round up: February 2016

So hi...

This year so far has been a bit of a whirlwind. It felt like it was a little slow the first week of January but so got going. February has definitely continued that trend, I think it's a mixture of the increased amount of work at uni in 2nd year as well as kinda waiting around for the holiday at the end of march and the foals gig at the end of feb.

It'a been a pretty decent month, I had a really hectic last week due to my bank cards being swallowed by an ATM for no reason and then a passport loss scare ( which I was able to find thank god!) but those issues were resolved and I'm feeling pretty positive! I got a few art pieces done, all fanart of the Game Undertale, which wasn't planned but oh well. I got my first qwertee haul ( here) and got some awesome clothes and the end of feb I went to a gig which is always fun.
Now we are onwards and upwards to March, I already have paintballing planned as well as the weekend trip to Dublin as well which I am literally so excited for!

How was your February? and what plans do you have for March?

Lifestyle: FOALS Gig

So hi...

I am a music lover. gigs and festivals are totally my jam.The adrenaline rush and collective atmosphere on the crowd is one of the greatest feelings. The last gig I had been to was back in October when I went to Bring me the horizon, It was the best gig I've ever been to but anyway! On the 19th February I went to another one! (if ya know the title didn't already give that away) It was at the Barclaycard arena in Birmingham which is just round the corner from my flat so that was awesome! The Gig was The Foals as apart of their 'What went down' tour promoting their new album of the same name and they were supported by 'Everything everything' and 'Peace' who just did a DJ set rather than perform their own stuff. I went with 3 friends and we got to the venue about an hour before opening so we could get a place by the barriers (Which we did, and managed to keep our place for the whole gig woohooo). The gig itself was amazing! The Dj set was super chill but just enough of a built up and then Everything everything performed amazing and really got the crowd going ready for the Foals. The foals themselves were phenomenal, The stage was light up like crazy and lazers were shining all over the place, it looked so good. and if you don't believe me.... well it's a good thing my friends got loads of pictures (I like to keep my phone away and enjoy the experience without worrying about photos personally.).

And yeah, it was a really good time and I'm already itching to go to another gig, but I have a trip to Dublin before that and then I'll hopefully be going to Slam dunk Midlands in may which is also in Brum, Score.

Have you attended any gigs recently? what's the best gig or festival you've ever been to?

Travel Wanderlust: World Map.

So hi...

I've mentioned a few times on the blog but I love travelling. I love the idea of backpacking around places and just taking in the different sites of the world. I got to go abroad a few times when I was younger but I don't remember many of them, and although they were nice, if was often family holidays without the opportunity to actually explore.
Last year I was lucky enough to go to Paris and Salou Spain. (Read about my Paris trip: part 1, 2, 3 & 4 Or my Spain trip here). The Paris trip was super touristy and I got to visit nearly all the big attractions and sites while the Spain one was more of a relaxed, on the beach sort of holiday.
This year I'll likely only be visiting dublin towards the end of march and that's it. Finances just aren't super great but that doesn't stop me dreaming.
I had a post last year on the top 10 places I want to visit (here) and looking over now and again is great motivation for saving money little by little to put towards trips to those places, but as well as that I bought myself a world map poster, and quite a decent sized one.

I love the idea of marking a world map with all the places you've been and all the places you want to go. When I eventually (and hopefully!) own my own place I'd actually like to have a feature wall in my bedroom or living room of a world map, The whole wall would be a map for me to place markers to places I want to go and Postcards from places I've been. But that's big dreams of the future, and for now my poster is good enough for me.
I currently have written the places I've been and remembered which isn't very many. They sit along the bottom part of the poster except my Dublin note as it's still to be done and sits up next to Ireland. The poster itself sits right in front of my desk, it's basically the main focus of my little uni room and inspires me daily.

I hope to get to the stage of confidently travelling alone as currently I've never been abroad alone. The closest is when I went to Paris last year, I was going as apart of the fashion society but knew No one who was going, it was great though and I still managed to make friends. But I'd like to make the full leap and completely travel alone. Though I would probably keep to Europe for my first few alone trips as I would still be able to rely on people speaking English if I was lost or in trouble, and once I'm comfortable I'll expand my travels.

A few travel goals I would like to achieve:
Roadtrip around America for a month or so.
Live in Japan.(and learn the language.)
Backpack around Europe.

Do you have Wanderlust? how to you keep inspired to travel?

The Monthly Round up: August.

So hi...

August was a pretty good month for me, The first week saw me get my cast off and instead get a boot which could be removed which was a great relief. this then meant I was itching to get out and about, The week after I was in Bath for 5 days and celebrated my birthday and a friends which was definitely the highlight of the month, As the Birmingham plan fell through. but I had a small gathering for that instead which was chill and nice, the rest of the month was quiet, a few jammy nights and outings and town visits.

I have what should be my last hospital visit for my foot next week and then I'll be in the clear, although I'm sure I'll still need to be relatively careful for the next few weeks and won't be able to go crazy or play football with my Uni for a while, but I'll be happy it's healed. September should be super fun.

How was your august?

BATH Photo Diary

So Hi...

I'm back from my mini holiday! I didn't get to do posts everyday as it was super tiring and I usually fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow, But we're back for the rest of August!

Bath was such a nice place, It's so so so pretty and bustling with life, especially on the Saturday where buskers where on every corner as well as a million tourists! We were there from wednesday to Sunday and went into town twice, once for touristy stuff (If you're ever in bath go to Bath escape it's a historical investigation tour) and for general wandering and shopping. We also had two house parties, one for Natasha's Birthday who was the amazing host of the week and once for my own birthday which was great despite me feeling a little strange being away from home for my birthday.

I have a fair few photos to share, though I will be GREATLY limiting the drunken mess photos!
but enjoy.

It was an amazing week and the rest of this month will only get better with the amount of plans I have!
