May Aims

So hi...

So er, I'm a little late with this post. BUT I do have a good-ish reason, my Wifi went ka-put at the beginning of the month and I've had no Wifi at my flat for the last few days, it’s been weird and all kinds of boring yet productive at the same time. But my FOMO was definitely through the roof which really sucked. ANYWAY, New month new goals, kinda. Let’s get on with it.

Eat well and Exercise: So I mentioned going to the gym with my flatmate before, and well it just hasn’t been happening, so that was a fail. I'm starting to think I might brave going alone, as I'm often awake in the middle of the night these days and a little gym visit may do me good to tire me out enough to sleep and get some exercise in. Don’t get me wrong I have been exercising, but not nearly as much as I’d like.

Revise fortnightly if not daily: As much as I would like to believe in myself to revise daily, I'm being realistic with myself to know that probably won’t happen. But I think I could definitely get myself to revise at least every other day. Exams for my second year at Uni are literally round the corner and I need to get my butt in gear.

Listen or read the morning news: I really made the efforts to read and listen to the news more often a few months back, but I have kind of fallen out of the habit and I’d like to get back into it, It’s nice to just know what’s going on in the world and it’s interesting to.

Continue Streaming: So I've been live streaming on a site called twitch. I'm planning a separate post to really explain it but it’s been a ton of fun. The community and friendships I've built on twitch have been amazing and I enjoy streaming so much. Even if I'm just a little bit rubbish at it. I mean I can only go up right?

Continuing learning and developing my art: I've really been pushing my art out in April, a cause of this has definitely been the live streaming but I feel like I'm getting more ideas and itching to draw more often and it’s amazing to look back at pieces and already feel myself progressing. I'm also learning more and more about how to get the most out of Paint Tool SAI, which has really effected the quality of my art as well. I'm looking forward to keeping up this productive streak.

Experiment with my make-up: As I mentioned in my April round up, I've really fell in love with make up again, I was starting to get really lazy with my make-up. I just felt that my make-up looked a little rubbish no matter what I did, and it felt a little pointless putting it on. It may have been due to buying some new make-up, or that I had randomly decided to look through my stash and try on some older products. But either way I'm loving doing my make-up and trying out different colours and looks out. I want to keep up with this re-found passion.

Embrace life and Opportunities: when I went to Ireland and travelled alone by plane for the first time, I had planned to write a post about travelling alone and making the most of life, but never got around to it funnily enough, though I'm still planning to do that type of post. But either way I want to push myself more, to try and make the most of each day, to do something each day that I can look back on at the end of the day and say ‘Go me’. I just feel more and more that I'm never getting any younger, and why delay plans that I could be making now?

And those are all my Aims for May, quite a variety I think, and all pretty doable aims I think. The only thing that’d stop me achieving them are my number one enemies, Laziness and lack of motivation, though my motivation has been great… So it’s more just my never ending laziness.

The Monthly Round Up: April

So Hi...

A little late with this post as my internet got ruined by a bin fire at the bottom of my building that burnt from the internet cables, I'm actually writing this at Costa, it's strange.
April was a pretty quiet month for me, Uni was finished in the first week or so, and I had not that many plans to actually go out. So a lot of my month was spent inside. However I did enjoy the month amazingly. I streamed a lot on twitch and I rediscovered my love for make-up which was dying out a little. This relit fire also meant a new passion for my blog, with a load more ideas for post series and general plans for the May and the summer months.

Although there was not many photos to share because I can only spam you guys with my selfies oh so much. April was an amazing month. I have a few plans and ambitions from the month that I’ll be revealing through their own blog posts but I've never felt more accepted. And I've never wanted to travel somewhere so much as I do right now. I kept up my crack down of not drinking for a whole month, which I'm proud of myself for as I had a few times where I could have broken it.
I was rather bad with attending the GYM however, but that's to be added onto my May aims post!

How was your April? hopefully a little more busy than mine!

Sunglasses Galore

So hi...

Although it doesn't really feel like it when you look outside the window, summer is fast approaching. As such I decided to dig out my sunglasses with the hopes that it would encourage the sun to make a few appearances. After digging them all out I realised, damn. I have a fair few pairs of sunglasses, which you know, I'm willing to show off to you all. I'm pretty sure they were all mostly from Primark and under like £2/3 but they do the job and I like them.

These 5 are the actual proper pairs that I own. I also have 3 pairs of bright blue glasses that I've acquired from my student union but I don't really feel like I'll be wearing them casually. Sorry BCUSU. All of these were primark except the purple pair which I actually bought in spain last year as I had forgot to take some with me. The white and pick pairs are also pretty new and unused an I had gotten them at the end of  summer last year and so I didn't actually get a chance to wear them all that much. My favourite pair are just the normal black pair, because I'm boring and they are the old faithful pair that can go with any outfit.
I like to think I have a pair of sunglasses to suit any mood or outfit I might fancy in summer.
Do you own more than 1 or 2 pairs of sunglasses?

My Dream Festival.

So hi...

I love music. Music to me is just so essential to my life and I absolutely love the adrenaline and feel of experiencing Live music at festivals and gigs. It's an amazing experience and man oh man if I could afford it I'd probably go to some form of gig or festival weekly. It's also coming up to Festival season with summer quickly approaching and the people over at TickPick contacted me and asked me a super interesting question. What would be my ideal festival?
They asked me to think about who I would have if I could set up my own little Coachella, cleverly name 'Faux-chella' What would be my perfect music festival?

Now I listen to a hell of a lot of music, I'm definitely a person that needs some form of sound around me al the time, and I don't tend to stick to one type of music genre, it changes nearly daily. As such trying to decide on only a few select artists who I would have to all in one place if I could was actually really difficult. I kept trying to think who I would be sad if I couldn't see, or who I've loved for a long time vs people that I'm only loving recently.
Once I had decided on my chosen performers, the kind people made this cool little personalised poster for My own 'It's all about the little things Festival'
Ain't it pretty.

Now let's discuss my choices a little. I thought long and hard about this to cover all the music I'd want to hear.
Bring me the horizon- These guys fall into what I would say is my 'main' genra of music that I commonly listen to. I actually saw them back in november and out of the decent amount of gigs I've been too it was by far the best experience. The overall atmosphere and vibe was phenomonal and there's just something about that sort of surrounding that makes me feel so alive. So I'd always be happy to bee them again.

Panic at the disco- P!ATD is just P!ATD. How do I even explain these guys. They covered my overdramatic teen angst with the tunes 'I write sins not tradgies' and 'Lying is the most fun a girl can have without taking her clothes off' and still right all the right buttons now with the new album Death of a bachelor. Even if it's only brendan now I still adore them. fun fact: I'll be seeing them at Slam Dunk in May, I'm excited.

Hasley: This is one of the newer ones. Well, not a new one completely but I'm currently obsessed with the album Badlands. I actually knew a fair few Hasley songs, just never knew they were hasley songs? you know when that weird sort of thing happens, well yeah. Now that I know I can't stop listening to her and I feel like watching and singing every lyric would be great.

I prevail: Probably one of the smaller editions to this list but I actually discovered these guys through the Cover they did of Taylor swifts 'Blank Space' and instantly fell in love, They just do good tunes. and the clean vocals are god damn amazing. I think they would be an amazing live performance.

Ninja Sex Party: Now if you haven't heard these guys before, you may be slightly worried when looking at this name but I swear these guys are an amazing comedy band. It's made up of two people, Danny Sexbang and Ninja Brian. I'd say you should listen to their Take on me Cover. and then everything else because they do amazing catchy dance tunes.

Arctic Monkeys: This is another hard to explain one. I mean, it's Arctic Monkeys. They do all the good music. and I've missed so many opportunities to see them as well that I'm really just dying to. I've always loved them.

Lana Del Rey: This is another old favourite. Lana has such a memorising voice and makes me want to experience that typical 'american dream' summer. So cool, so effortless.

Fall Out Boy: when the hiatus happened, I won't lie. I got a little teary. Fall out boy are kind of in the same boat as P!ATD for me in that I adore both their old and new music and it would pretty much fufill my Teenage dreams to watch them before. I won't lie, I was a fan of Pete.

Melanie Martinez: Another case similar to hasley in that I had stumbled across a load of her songs but not known they were all by the same person or that it was Melanie. She songs and music makes me feel like I'm super cool and sassy and really, that's all I want in life.

Marina and the Diamonds: Last but not least to be added to my Dream festival is this empowering queen. Marina has style, an amazing voice, strong as hell songs like 'How to be a heart breaker' and she's just a queen. why wouldn't I want to see her strut her stuff.

And that would be my line up. This was a super cool concept to think about and write up. thanks to TickPick for giving me the question and making a cute little poster for me!
You can head over to Tickpick for Concert ticketsNFL tickets and more!
Getting festival tickets can be a pain in the butt sometimes, so it's always nice to have a place you know you can go to.
TickPick describes themselves as:
TickPick is a no-fee ticket marketplace that is changing the industry. We're growing rapidly thanks to cheaper prices and an amazing buyer experience.
and you can find them at: TickPick.com
What would your ideal Faux-chella festival be?

I'm liking to just window shop at the moment though, also since I really want to change my wardrobe into a capsule wardrobe I'll hopefully not be buying many clothes ever anyway so you know. but that all depends on how well behaved I am.

Dublin Trip

So hi...

If you didn't know (I don't know how because I mentioned it everywhere) but i went to Dublin over the weekend for St. Patricks day to celebrate. I went with 9 other people, mostly friends and family and I was there a total of three days, Flying out early morning Thursday and coming back home in the evening on Saturday. It was short but sweet.

Now I ain't gonna lie, drinking was high up in the things to do list, so I didn't exactly get loads of photos but there was a few decent ones.

On paddy's day itself I was flying from Birmingham airport by myself and meeting the rest of the group in dublin, I'll be writing more about my experiences travelling alone another time!
After eventually all meeting up we headed to the hostel, which took a good 2 hours, we basically didn't know the exact way and the security and officers kept pointing us in different directions. Obviously when we actually found it, it was right in the first place we had walked around. We finally got to put our stuff away and headed out towards the Parade.
The amount of people was ridiculous, it was kinda amazing. Everyone was dressed up in some form, with some people wearing simple hats, to other dressed up in full green suits covered in shamrocks, it was amazing.
Because we had to be careful about packing, none of us had any accessories or hats from previous years so found a shop to buy new ones, me, my mum and my sister ended up getting matching hats at 5 euros each.

Inappropriate accessories....
The parade itself was pretty cool, I think the Luton one is more impressive in terms of outfits and the sheer size of it, but wither way it was still a good time. We didn't get any photos thought because of the amount of people. And I'm not going to lie that the rest of the day was spent visiting a variety of pubs and drinking and socialising. It was all a good time, though I have to say, the prices were ridiculous. I expected Dublin prices to be bad anyway but I'm pretty sure they were even more due to St. Patricks day, but I guess that is to be expected.

The day after, there was surprisingly no hangovers, just tiredness, the hostel we stayed at was pretty good, we had a whole 10 bed room to ourself so it was like a hotel, but the bed are never going to be as good as home ya know?
We spent the day doing a bit of shopping and in tourist fashion, we also visited the Guinness Factory and had the little tour, the place is absolutely massive and you get little sample Guinness going round and a voucher for a full pint at the top, I'm personally not a huge Guinness drinker but it was pretty cool.

How cute is this horse though.
I'm not ashamed to say that me, my mum and my sister then went back for a quick hour nap, it was so good.
For the afternoon we had reserved a table at a Thai restaurant for my sister as it was her birthday on the 16th so we decided to slightly delay the celebrations. It was my first time trying Thai food and it was pretty good, I wasn't feeling too well though and really wasn't very hungry so I couldn't appreciate it as much but it was still a lovely evening. To end it off we spent the rest of the evening in the pub attached to the hostel which had an amazing atmosphere and that's where we stayed until it closed.
The final day was pretty boring, mostly spent packing and then waiting around for our flights, we did go for a fry up however which was basically heaven.

That was pretty much the whole trip, I had the flight back and then enjoyed my own bed and having my flat to myself before returning to my home town the next day for easter.

How did you spend St. Patricks day? Have you gone away recently?

My Instagram Life 2#

So hi...

Another Instagram post here today!
The idea of these posts is to show what I've been posting and doing on instagram in terms of portraying how well life is going but at the same time get real with you and say the things that weren't so picture perfect that have happened. Super real, Super honest, that's these posts.

My instagram has kept the theme of food selfies and drawings like last month but with a few more selfies!
I've been feeling selfie strong the last few weeks, well it terms of my face anyway. Body wise I've been a bit down and have started changes to get a little healthier and lose weight, as currently I just can't say I'm happy.
My drawings have been progressing really well, the copic markers I've bought are amazing and I've starting to draw sketches and drawings the way I want first time without having to erase and re draw a 10000 times, it's been a great motivator and confidence booster.
The lack of drawings however has been due to assignment period, the last 3 weeks has been a big stress to hand in and complete three different assignments all within a very short amount of time from each other, the university didn't really plan it out very well and It's cause a load of stress for a number of students.
My sleep schedule has also been awful still, I'm either not sleeping or sleeping for an hour or so at random points in the day, it's to the stage where I'm planning to see a doctor about it as it's past the stage of normal, I was awake for nearly 40 hours without feeling too sleepy this week and it was very weird. (I'm also writing this at 5am, yay).
and that's my instagram life recently.

How has the last few weeks been for you?

St.Patrick's Day OOTD

So hi...

Happy St.Patricks Day! When you're seeing this I'll be celebrating in Dublin! woop woop. Anyway today's a quick one to show two outfits I've put together themed for the day!

So this first outfit is super simple. It's a swing dress I got from boohoo super cheap, I think it was around £8? I bought it intending to wear it on paddy's day. Although I like it, It just doesn't sit as nicely on as I hoped and the neckline goes a tiny bit too low. to the point that I would be overly conscious of it the whole day, making it less enjoyable! But I do love the dress and will still be taking it with me, maybe for one of the other days I'm there.

The Second outfit I absolutely love as it's built around the amazing patterned mini skirt. It still keeps with the green them as well with a basic top tucked into the skirt and then some tights, I'll definitely be changing into this at some point on paddy's day, just decided not to start in it as I didn't think I'd enjoy having to watch my skirt while travelling.

The last outfit is the one I decided to wear on the plane, It's this super cool baggy dress that I actually stole off my mum ( hurray for mums with good clothes, or just mum generally, you rock mums.) so I don't actually know where it was that she picked it up from but I love it. The cut out shoulders and golden detailing makes me feel so cool and chic in it, and the bagginess makes it comfortable while still nice due to the fitted bottom.

What are you wearing this St. Patrick's day? Are you celebrating it at all?

The Capsule Wardrobe: The Plan

So hi...

I love the concept of a capsule wardrobe. I recently rewatched all of Vivannadoesmakeup's videos on her capsule wardrobe and swooning a little. It's just such a clean and organised way to keep clothes and get rid of the useless crap that just ends up collecting dust at the bottom of the wardrobe.
As such I've been thinking about how to start making my own wardrobe a capsule wardrobe. Now I don't think I could really do as good as Vivianna with only 36 items each season. I've made myself a breakdown of what I'd like to have in my wardrobe in total as in all honesty, I want to just completely rebuild my wardrobe as I feel like I've collected a lot of things that I don't really care for or just don't reflect my style all that much.
Anyway This will be in some form a mini series?
The break up will be the plan now, then when I have time after my recent assignment dates are past.  ( UGhH Second term assignments why you all so close together!).
Now I've thought to plan for 100 items overall, and in this includes Shoes, Dresses, Tops, Bottoms (with sub categories of shorts trousers and skirts!) and then Coats.
This plan may change, as I collect things I may notice I've missed items out or that I don't actually need as much as planned, it's a learning curve.
Let''s go.
Breakdown! 100 items.

Coats: 14
Shoes: 14
Tops: 30
Dresses: 10
Bottoms: 42
 -Shorts: 10
 -Skirts: 7
 -Trousers: 15

That's the basic breakdown I've decided on, these would then be swapped out and changed around for each season.
Just a note, the 14 coats are because I've considered hoodies in that category which are basically my life, always gonna have about 5 of them. Student life yo.

Now is the long process of clearing through my wardrobe and deciding what I would actually keep as apart of this system.

Do you have a capsule wardrobe? any tips?

Spring Cleaning.

So hi...

Where did the term spring cleaning come from? Like how did it become a thing...
Well where ever it came from, It's definitely what I've been doing lately.
I had a uni assignment due Wednesday which I've been stressing over the last two week and after handing it in and waking up Wednesday morning I was a bit at a loss of what to do. My flatmate felt the same, and after chatting for a bit and looking at the flat we decided to clean it, completely, scrubbing it all head to toe. and that's exactly what he did, we went to our local Morrison's for some cleaning products, stuck some good old Abba on, and got cleaning.

And it was actually super refreshing, I mean I clean generally all the time, tidying my room etc etc but it's been a while since I've really done a deep clean, and making the whole flat all gleaming and sparkly was really satisfying, It made me feel clean and refreshed as well, and after the stressful past few weeks it was just what I needed.
Halfway through my flatmate mentioned that it was spring cleaning and it made me think is it just a natural thing to end up cleaning, whether mentally or physically this time of year?
Maybe it was because we had just handed it an assignment that had stressed us out, Maybe it was because it was a nice day out with blue skies and a refreshing wind.
I honestly don't really know but it was great.

So if you're feeling a little in down in the dumps and stuck in the winter stage, I'd really recommend doing some spring cleaning of your own.

Here's some other little things I've done or will be doing to continue my spring cleaning theme.
-Change up my wardrobe:
Dusting of those brighter coloured clothes and the lightweight pieces that have been buried in the back of my closet.
-Have a pamper night:
My skin really took a hit this winter, more than I've ever had before, so I really want to have a night to pamper my skin and myself in general, paint my nails some pastel colour, enjoy some hot chocolate and watch some youtube videos or streams with a face mask, so relaxing.
-Try that healthy smoothie jazz:
I quite like myself a good smoothie, or some granola and yogurt. But I'll be honest, when it's so cold outside and dark, I really just want to curl up in my blankets with something more comforting, But I'm gonna make an effort to make myself smoothies for on the go and a few more light meals and lunches.
-Enjoy a hobby:
Kinda doing this already with the whole drawing arty thing but this is to anyone, maybe try a new hobby or rekindle an old one like I have. I have this cool scene of me painting or sketches on my giant sketch pad next to my window with the bright light coming in and a nice breeze, super cute like.
-Get out:
This isn't a set spring specific thing you can do but I think again, it's cold asf in winter and sometimes getting outside is the last thing you want to do. I'll be trying to change that up a little in the next few months. I'd like to walk around the city centre a little more.

That's all I really had to say today, I just kinda get the deal about spring cleaning now, in whatever form that may take. That shit can be super refreshing.

Have you done any spring cleaning recently?

Lifestyle - Cooking: Pizza Pasta Bake.

So hi...

Cooking man that thing you gotta do to eat and live and shit. I quite like that thing. It's a bit of a pain sometimes when you're living away from home as a student and all you want is a good homemade meal from mum or dad because you don't have the energy to make it yourself...
so you settle for oven chips and chicken dippers instead...

Yeah that's a sad time.
But in general I really enjoy cooking and baking. Me and my cousin used to go crazy with baking when we were younger and now he's a chef in training, Makes me feel proud. Now I'n not that great at cooking but you know, most thing I make comes out tasty pretty damn good, and I have yet to have a disaster meal even while experimenting.

Now leading on from that, I love pizza, It's possibly my favourite food, although chinese fights pizza constantly over that decision. At home I didn't really have pizza often which made me sad, now at Uni I get to have it whenever I want (Whether takes takeaway: Dom you bae. Or a £1 pizza from morrisons) But sometimes I like to get experimental with it. and that idea lead to this.

Pizza Pasta Bake!BAM.

Does that not sound like heavenly goodness? I thought of it while cooking pasta for lunch and googled for recipes with little results, How was this not on buzzfeed yet? So I decided to yolo it and try to make it myself, and here is the results. Let me tell you it went pretty successfully.
Ingredients:
Pasta
Chopped tomatoes
tomato puree
basil and any seasoning of choice
Pepperoni slices
normal cheese of choice
Mozzarella
Okay so it's pretty damn simple to make this.

First I part boiled the pasta, then drained and added the chopped tomatoes and put straight back onto the hob. This is where you can add any seasoning and extras if you want, I just cut up some pepperoni and added it in.
Let all that simmer and cook for a few minutes ( I left it for around 10). While that's simmering you can grate and slice your cheeses and turn on your oven to warm up.
After the 10 minutes take it off and pour it into your tray of choice. I used a small cake tine as I wasn't making a huge batch since I only cook for me and this was an experiment.
You can then top your pasta with your grated cheese followed by pepperoni slices and finally topped with the mozzarella.
Pop this into the oven for about 10-15 minutes or until the top is melted golden goodness.

You can then serve up with a big spoon and cry happy tears and the goodness. You are welcome.

Have you heard of this before? Or have any other recipes for me to try?

Doodle Dumpin 2#

So hi...

Another doodle dump post today! and this time It'll be less drawings but instead of traditional pencil drawings these are digital ones I've done with my WACOM Bamboo tablet and Paint tool SAI. Most of these are Fan art from the game undertale as I'm a huge fan of the game and I find it so easy to draw and just get my creative juices flowing, it's also a great way to help my learn better techniques and ways to use paint tool SAI. Enjoy!

Any improvement advice on my work?
