Evening Routine

So hi...

I've been really enjoying having a sort of routine to pamper myself the last few weeks. I think it's the cold that makes cosy pamper nights in feel like a must.
It's not a super fancy routine with a million products because in all honesty I get bored and don't have the money for a load of different skincare products anyway.
I have 2 kind of stages for my evening routine. The first is the sort of shower part and cleaning, while the second is the smaller details like nails and creams.
So this evening Routine is for when I get out of the shower in most cases. First I'll use my Frizz Ease oil, 1 or 2 pumps through my hair, in an attempt to tame it a bit. I'll then use these 2 SebaMed products I've been trialling.
One is a general face wash and the other is a toner specifically aimed to acne prone skin, which I have had trouble dealing with lately. I also like to use this Skin sincere Face Polish as it feels a bit gentler and smells less medicine like than the SebaMed products.
After my face is clean I've gotten into the habit of using these deep cleansing nose strips by Derma V10, It's really quite interesting to see how much dirt can be in your pores even after scrubbing.
I finish my face cleaning by using the Lush bubble gum lip scrub and the Body shop intense cream, which I wrote about before (here).

The next part is the real pampering, I use the body shop Vanilla Body butter all over now that it's usually completely dried. I'll then use the Superdrug skin care oil on my stomach for my surgery scars and few stretch marks. Now it's the fun part. Nails.
I'm awful at caring for my nails, the sound of a nail file gives me shivers and I have the bad habit of biting them but painting them or even just removing varnish is something I find super relaxing. I've recently love going for mulriple colours of my nails, This combination of light grey, light blue and light pink is probably my favourite as it definitely gives me a spring vibe. The polishes are all from MUA because hello? £1.

And that's as advanced as my evening routine gets skincare wise, I'll then get some comfy Pj's on and sit in bed with my laptop and a hot chocolate or tea, super comforting.

What's your evening routine look like?

The Body Shop: Vitamin E Intense Moisture Cream

So hi....

It's currently winter in the UK, some may debate that saying it's nearly spring, but it's damn cold right now, I ain't seeing any signs of warmth of spring yet. Anyway with the notions of winter and coldness, comes the issues of chapped lips and drying skin, it sucks big time.

In an attempt to combat this I've been trying super hard to moisturise often and keep my skin feeling some kind of decent. To do this I've been using the body shop vitamin E intense moisture cream, It says it's for very dry skin, and admittedly my skin is more combination type but that's why I don't often use this cream, however the harsh cold weather this year was really wrecking my skin so a small amount of this after washing my face seriously helps.

It really feels super creamy and nice on my skin and especially in the morning after moisturising before bed the night before my skin feels so soft and smooth, it's great.
I''d definitely recommend this cream for anyone struggling with dry skin or just having issues with the winter weather like I have been.

What product has saved your skin this winter?

Sweetie Pie: Shower... Jelly?

So hi...

Now I am a pretty big fan of lush, I currently have 5/6 things of lush I'm going through or have to use. One of these things is the Sweetie Pie shower jelly, I got it in a gift set that my sister bought me and was really just confused by it, I mean you see plenty of shower gels, creams and the like but jelly? so strange. It say's it was made in order to celebrate Lush's 10th birthday.

The lid description says:

'If a bar of soap and a bottle of shower gel had a steamy affair, this would be the resulting jelly baby.'

I also love the how to use end which says:

'Stroke our wobbly bit over your wobbly bits in the shower.'

so inappropriate sounding, I love it.
Anyway when I was first bought the gift set I kinda skimmed over this beaut, confused by the idea of it, but recently I've been trying out different beauty and skincare bits because I really don't appreciate or use all the things I have, and as I had run out of my snow fairy shower gel, this seemed like an appropriate replacement. the first shower was an awkward time of wondering what the hell to do with the jelly and trying not to drop it.

Once all that was dealt with I was pretty fond of this product, It's got a lovely cherry smell to it and the jelly itself is all glittery which is kinda cool. It does feel like it takes a while to get the soapiness going with the jelly, but once it does, it all a good time. The faint cherry smell also lingers on the skin for a long time as well which is always nice.
This is definitely going to be a firm favourite in my shower routine.

Have you ever tried out the Sweetie Pie Shower jelly? what did you think of it?

Mini Lush Haul

So hi...

For my birthday my lovely sister bought me a lush gift box set, and strangely enough while I was at Bath, I bought myself some stuff as well so now I have a nice little collection to share with you all.
The set my sister bought for my is called the Sweetie pie gift set but when I tried to find it on the site it didn't show up, so I'm guessing it was a limited thing. It comes with 7 products, one of which I've already used, the products are:

-Space Girl Ballistic: This is the purple one in the shape of a planet, if it wasn't obvious enough, it smells nice and looks nice, I have good expectations for this one so I'm thinking to save it for a pamper night when I'm super stressed.
- Rockstar Soap: oddly enough I bought myself some of this when I went Bath, but it was recommended to me as I asked for something similar to snow fairy as I always want but miss it when it's out, the smell isn't exactly like snow fairy, I find it to be a bit milder but it's still lovely and sweet and I can't wait to use it.
-Think Pink Ballistic: This is the product I've already used, it smelt quite sweet and made the water.. you guessed it, pink. There was also little petals that floated about the bath, which is a love/hate for me, it looks awesome but is so impractical!
-Shimmy Shimmy Glitter bar: This isn't the golden sparkly bar like you would think but the Cream heart shape, I'm really looking forward to this as it looks like it would make my skin so so soft, it feels super creamy in my hands, the glitter is less to look forward to though
-Creamy Candy: With a little flower on top this bar looks cute, 'mm guessing the flower floats around the bat and the bar itself definitely gives a candy smell, I think this will be one of the least interesting one but I could be wrong.
-Sweetie Pie Shower Jelly: Now this one is just so confusing to me, It's a jelly shower wash? Like shower gel in jelly form, But I'm just not sure how to go about using it, do I cut bits of jelly out to use in my showers or what? Such an interesting idea, it does smells lovely and when attempt to break up and use a bit, it bit make me feel lovely and scented.
-Sunny Side: This is the golden glittery circle, and man oh man I can only imagine the mess this will make, but boy would it feel like some sort of magical fairy tale, barely touching with you hands has them covered in glittery goodness. It's a pleasant smell and I bet will make for one hell of a bath.

That's all of the Products from the Gift set and I have 3 more products I bought, one of which I've already mentioned is more of the Rock star bar. The other two products are both bath bars and are:
-The Comforter: I feel it's a sort of does what it says thing which will let me just chill out in the bath and watch Tv while I soak my skin, another one for after a stressed day I think.
-Granny takes a dip: Odd name I though, I got this another seeing a few people mention it and it's lovely and colourful ( sorry I didn't want to rip the bars so no photos) It's got a lovely fresh scent and I think it would be the sort to refresh and inspire you from the colours.

And those are all the things I have from Lush at the moment, not a bad little lot if you ask me, loads of sweet things which is just my style and I just know I'll appreciate these when I'm back in Birmingham and Panicking over the 1000 Assignments and essays I'll undoubtedly have.

Picked anything up from lush recently?

Instagram Healthy Food Diary.

So hi...

If you follow me on Instagram you may have noticed that I have been posting all my meals lately. This is because I've started to use my instagram page as a way to track what I eat and keep a food diary. Along with this I've also been following weekly meal plans that I found from Weight watchers. I decided to do all this as I've struggled with my weight most my life, or as long as I can remember. When I was born, I was actually 2 months early and so was tiny when I came out. Doctors didn't actually think I would survive and I was kept in the hospital for a while. Because of this panic my parents told me they used to give me a lot of food and things so I would grow normally and okay. Well that worked a little too well, From junior school I was bigger and a little taller than most of the other children. And although everyone shot up in their height and I didn't I still have always been what I consider pretty big. I've tried a number of things before but I never seem to shift.

This has always cause a lot of insecurities for me and although now I don't consider myself to be obese or anything ( I'm size 14 comfortably in 90% of clothing) I'm still, like most people rather unhappy with my body. So I decided to revamp. I've changed a lot of my eating habits already in the past year. I rarely drink anything but water ( and usually have about 5 bottles of water a day) and I don't tend to have processed food as I've gotten into the habit of eating fresher at uni.(minus the odd takeaway)

These still haven't been able to shift the weight I want and so here I am. after that long super personal ramble, Telling the blogging world my plans. This way I feel I'll be much more motivated to keep up to the meal plans I'm following and more motivated to generally improve my fitness and health.
Feel free to follow me on my instagram page. I may start to post my weight loss or gain after another month or so.
I'm hoping to lose around 3 stone of weight. And I think this can be done healthily in around 4-5 months, Let me know your thoughts on that?

I've also lost 8/9lbs within the last 2 weeks already purely due to the fact I got a tongue piercing, making eating solid foods quite difficult, so I didn't eat at all for about 5 days apart from the odd yogurt and soup. As I was still keeping myself busy and active I'm guessing that's the reason for the weight loss but it's a head start I guess?

With any luck I'll be writing an update post to this one with happy news and much slender fingers!

Bit over personal today but is there anything you've struggled with that you want to or have changed?

Winter Pamper evening

So hi...

With how cold it's getting it's easy to feel a bit meh. So I feel like having regular pamper evening is necessary to keep myself content, the harsh weather also doesn't do well for the skin.
So here's a little show of what I do on those cold nights to chill out and relax.

First thing is first, Make up removal. I use wipes first ( I know I know, so sue me) Then comes out the Garnier Micellar Water to get off the rest of the make-up and grime off my face. After if I have an early morning I'll pop into the shower, I wish I felt more comfortable in the flat to use the bath but I feel like I'd be taking up too much time in the bathroom, so showers it is.

I tend to use the John Frieda frizz ease oil in my hair after moisturizing my skin and such ( I'm sure I've said before but I use the Soap and glory The righteous butter at the moment) I'll then put my clearasil vitamins and extracts wash and mask, followed by the soap and glory peaches and clean cleanser. the facey stuff is finished off by the newly added Bodyshop Moisture Surging Vitamin E cream. I got it at the recent event I attended at TheBodyShop. ( My first ever! read about it here)

All that business over with it's time to chill. hot chocolate seems like the go to drink for winter months, but I recently have been having a coffee and hot chocolate mix in my new giant Christmas mug I picked up from Poundworld. It's quite like a mocha and tastes lovely. It's also my way to get more into coffee for when I'm super tired and don't want to constantly drink energy drinks.

The rest of the evening is me grabbing my throw from primark, Getting cosy on my bed with my little fairy lights on and catching up on youtube. I'm really lovely a load of People's Vlogs at the moment. I've said before but vlogs are my favourite kind of youtube videos! Maybe just because i'm lazy.

How do you wind down in the cold winter evenings?

Black Friday Buys.

So Hi...

You may have noticed that black Friday is suddenly a very big deal in the UK now, with a ton of non america brands jumping on the discount and offer band wagon. Not that I mind too much, though honestly I don't mind the excuse to look around for some deals.
I was in Birmingham city centre to head to TheBodyShop event and had a little look around, I only got 3 things though so I didn't wanna call this a haul.

First 2 things I picked up were from primark, they weren't really in the sale but they didn't cost too much to begin with so it's fine!
The gorgeous midi-skirt was only £8 and I absolutely love the colours as well the pattern, It's not too much.
Then I found these boots, How perfect are they???? I want so many of the boots in primary but these were the best ones I found for £22. I can't wait to buy a load more after christmas. Maybe I'll do a boots haul?

Lastly was the set I got at thebodyshop, due to the 50% off deal we got it was only £13. So far I've been loving them, but I'll say more in a future post my full opinions.

We'll talk soon lovelies!
