Sweetie Pie: Shower... Jelly?

So hi...

Now I am a pretty big fan of lush, I currently have 5/6 things of lush I'm going through or have to use. One of these things is the Sweetie Pie shower jelly, I got it in a gift set that my sister bought me and was really just confused by it, I mean you see plenty of shower gels, creams and the like but jelly? so strange. It say's it was made in order to celebrate Lush's 10th birthday.

The lid description says:

'If a bar of soap and a bottle of shower gel had a steamy affair, this would be the resulting jelly baby.'

I also love the how to use end which says:

'Stroke our wobbly bit over your wobbly bits in the shower.'

so inappropriate sounding, I love it.
Anyway when I was first bought the gift set I kinda skimmed over this beaut, confused by the idea of it, but recently I've been trying out different beauty and skincare bits because I really don't appreciate or use all the things I have, and as I had run out of my snow fairy shower gel, this seemed like an appropriate replacement. the first shower was an awkward time of wondering what the hell to do with the jelly and trying not to drop it.

Once all that was dealt with I was pretty fond of this product, It's got a lovely cherry smell to it and the jelly itself is all glittery which is kinda cool. It does feel like it takes a while to get the soapiness going with the jelly, but once it does, it all a good time. The faint cherry smell also lingers on the skin for a long time as well which is always nice.
This is definitely going to be a firm favourite in my shower routine.

Have you ever tried out the Sweetie Pie Shower jelly? what did you think of it?

Mini Lush Haul

So hi...

For my birthday my lovely sister bought me a lush gift box set, and strangely enough while I was at Bath, I bought myself some stuff as well so now I have a nice little collection to share with you all.
The set my sister bought for my is called the Sweetie pie gift set but when I tried to find it on the site it didn't show up, so I'm guessing it was a limited thing. It comes with 7 products, one of which I've already used, the products are:

-Space Girl Ballistic: This is the purple one in the shape of a planet, if it wasn't obvious enough, it smells nice and looks nice, I have good expectations for this one so I'm thinking to save it for a pamper night when I'm super stressed.
- Rockstar Soap: oddly enough I bought myself some of this when I went Bath, but it was recommended to me as I asked for something similar to snow fairy as I always want but miss it when it's out, the smell isn't exactly like snow fairy, I find it to be a bit milder but it's still lovely and sweet and I can't wait to use it.
-Think Pink Ballistic: This is the product I've already used, it smelt quite sweet and made the water.. you guessed it, pink. There was also little petals that floated about the bath, which is a love/hate for me, it looks awesome but is so impractical!
-Shimmy Shimmy Glitter bar: This isn't the golden sparkly bar like you would think but the Cream heart shape, I'm really looking forward to this as it looks like it would make my skin so so soft, it feels super creamy in my hands, the glitter is less to look forward to though
-Creamy Candy: With a little flower on top this bar looks cute, 'mm guessing the flower floats around the bat and the bar itself definitely gives a candy smell, I think this will be one of the least interesting one but I could be wrong.
-Sweetie Pie Shower Jelly: Now this one is just so confusing to me, It's a jelly shower wash? Like shower gel in jelly form, But I'm just not sure how to go about using it, do I cut bits of jelly out to use in my showers or what? Such an interesting idea, it does smells lovely and when attempt to break up and use a bit, it bit make me feel lovely and scented.
-Sunny Side: This is the golden glittery circle, and man oh man I can only imagine the mess this will make, but boy would it feel like some sort of magical fairy tale, barely touching with you hands has them covered in glittery goodness. It's a pleasant smell and I bet will make for one hell of a bath.

That's all of the Products from the Gift set and I have 3 more products I bought, one of which I've already mentioned is more of the Rock star bar. The other two products are both bath bars and are:
-The Comforter: I feel it's a sort of does what it says thing which will let me just chill out in the bath and watch Tv while I soak my skin, another one for after a stressed day I think.
-Granny takes a dip: Odd name I though, I got this another seeing a few people mention it and it's lovely and colourful ( sorry I didn't want to rip the bars so no photos) It's got a lovely fresh scent and I think it would be the sort to refresh and inspire you from the colours.

And those are all the things I have from Lush at the moment, not a bad little lot if you ask me, loads of sweet things which is just my style and I just know I'll appreciate these when I'm back in Birmingham and Panicking over the 1000 Assignments and essays I'll undoubtedly have.

Picked anything up from lush recently?

The Simple Beauty Saviors.

So Hi...

I was thinking the other week as I was going about my day and usual beauty routines that there are a few things that aren't often raved about, just because they are sort of expected, everyone uses them (Most people anyway) So I thought I would give a little shout out to a few beauty products that are our little saviors.

 Hand Cream:
Some people may be lucky enough to have constant smooth hands, but I think a lot of people like to use hand cream, your hands go through a lot day-to-day and can get really rough. so a hand cream to just moisturize and smooth your hands is always a plus. I'm using S&G hand food at the moment and it smells nice and makes my hands happy.
Make-up Remover:
So Probably not as used as hand cream but still an important little product. We spend so much time making sure our make-up lasts as long as possible, but this also means getting it off at the end of a long day can be a little painful. Now you could just try and wash your face and scrub it off but using a make-up remover and then washing your face give you that little bit cleaner face and makes sure your make-up is all off. I'm loving the Garnier Micellar cleansing water as it's super gentle but gets my make-up off great.
Sun-Cream:
Pretty damn important for your skin in Summer. No one likes to burn, it doesn't look great and it doesn't feel great. Tanning is all good but it's still important to tan without damaging our skin, and using sun cream is super important in this. I personally burn so easy, even in the English weather where the Sun is hardly ever out I can burn in about 10 minutes outside, so sun cream for me is SUCH a life saver. After sun is also a good thing to have for when you've forgotten to put on sun cream and do end up with a little burn.
Moisturizer:
Another skin product but keeping our skin healthy is important and moisturizer is a great help to this, it helps keep your skin from drying out and keeps it looking healthy. I use a number of different moisturizers, this particular one is just Vaseline coco butter.
Keeping your face moisturized is also important. I use The Body shop Vitamin E intense moisture cream. It makes my skin feel amazingly soft.
Lip Balms & scrubs:
Keeping your lips looking god is pretty important, especially for a girl like me that loves her lipstick. So making sure my lips are keep in good shape is something I always do. Though not everyone may use scrubs I think that balms are a pretty common product. The balm I'm currently using is the Nivea pearly shine balm, which has a lovely smell as well as keeping my lips from feeling dry. I use the Lush bubblegum lip scrub before the balm as well to help get rid of dead skin and give myself smooth lush lips.

And those are my important but simple beauty saviors. The Products most people use but probably don't think much about it.
Any other beauty products that you don't think about much but couldn't do without?

A New Everyday Make-up Routine.

So hi.

Recently I've found that my make-up routine has changed a lot and I find my make-up looking a lot smoother and more flawless as a result, so I thought I would tell you all my make-up routine, I don't think it's anything special. More so that I've gotten much better with my ability to blend and generally apply my make-up, which makes me rather happy.

I think two things have greatly contributed to my improved make-up routine, discovering the usefulness of a primer and decent make-up brushes.

The make up brushes I use are unbranded ones I order for only a couple of quid from Tmart, they are soft and fluffy and do the job well, they are also in need of cleaning I know.

For my primer I use MUA's Primer, It was £4 and my first choice in experimenting with primers as I didn't want to spend to much then possibly not like it, I'm looking forward to trying some other primers though.

After priming I use my concealer, which although has been collections lasting perfection offering for a while, after struggling to get another from my local Superdrug, I gave Rimmel's wake me up concealer and I really like it, I'd be so bold as to say I think it's just as good as collection's one.

Next is foundation and recently I haven't been using foundation too much because of the hot weather but when I do it's the Super stay better skin foundation from Maybelline, I think it really goes on well on my skin and I love the finish it gives me. It's the best foundation I've tried so far. I then contour my face with the Two-faced No makeup palette, I absolutely love this product, I bought it off Tmart like I did with the brushes and it wasn't listed as a brand product but when it arrived I was excited, It has the a contour, highlight, cream and powder blush and a shimmer bronzer. and with my face all done and looking the best I could hope I use Rimmel Stay matte powder to set it all and give my face a matte effect.

Next up I do my eyes, if I can be bothered with eye shadow, I get out the Naked 3 Palette, my favourite colours are burnout, limit, liar and mugshot. After is the cat flick which I use either Superliner by Loreal or Collection's Extreme 24 hour liner, followed by mascara, I use two mascaras, firstly Collection's no clumps which gives me good length to build up on and then I use Miss Manga by Loreal.

And that's my make up done, there's also lipstick but I change it up so often, but as I would say I'd mostly use a shade of red, I photopraphed Apocolips in Big bang and the Rimmel Kate moss in  01.

What's your make-up routine like?

Pamper Night.

So hi...

I think all girls have a set of products or a little routine they have for when they just need to unwind and relax in the bath, with this in mind I thought I'd show off my products and my little routine for a nice pampered bath time.

So these are typically all the products I'll typically use if I want a little paper evening, If i had a bath bomb I'd usually use one as well however I am currently out of bath bombs so maybe a visit to lush will be needed sometime soon!
While in the bath I tend to use my soap and glory sugar crush body wash, It's foamy and smells divine, I'll then use the body shop strawberry shower oil, I have a weakness for fruit smells when it comes to bodycare. when I paired the strawberry butter and shower gel, I lived in strawberry scent it was amazing. although cherry smell is just as nice. The restoring skin care oil from Superdrug I use after I've done everything else for my operation marks and I've been having issue with stretch marks near my operation scars which has been really hitting my confidence, So this oil has been helping a lot, plus it's a lot cheaper than bio-oil etc...

Once I'm finished in the bath, or shower, I tend to do my little face cleansing routine, with my Clearasil vitamins and extracts wash and mash, and I 'll leave that on for 6 minutes or so while I'll moisturize my body and put in my hair mask, I'll then use my peaches and clean cleanse from soap and glory followed by Nivea oil free moisturizing day cream.
So For moisturizing I used this cherry and macadamia body butter from Superdrug, this stuff smells SO good. And This hair mask which I'll use when my hair is feeling really lifeless, it does a pretty good job and my hair always lasts a little longer in terms of washing, As I tend to need to wash my hair almost everyday and it's very thick and gets greasy rather quickly, it's a giant pain.

And really that's it, not too many products but they do.

Collective haul! Primark, Select, Superdrug, Etc..

So hi...

I may have been doing a few bits of shopping over the last few weeks, when I had my operation and was house bound for a week I took it as an opportunity to order a few bits online, so i could have some happiness in the form of parcels at my door! As well as that I have been in to town a lot over the Easter holidays and picked up a number of bits and bobs which I thought would be nice to show all together in a collective haul of all the things I've got!

So For Easter I got a £20 mall voucher from my dad as he doesn't buy me and my sisters chocolate, So I went to primark to pick up a few home bits for my self, the thought of Uni and my own place has recently made my interest in homey bits increase dramatically!

While In primark I picked up a few candles, recommended by my candle obsessed mother who swore to me that despite the price they were actually scented when you burnt them. And they actually do, I preferred the small pots at £1 each as you can probably tell from the photo, but the bigger vanilla and coconut candle at £2 was very nice also. I've made a mental note to collect a few more of these soon.
I also picked up some face clothes as I was lacking in them and primark was having a home sale event so they were only £1.50! nice.
On a separate trip I also picked up the much talked about, Garnier micellar cleansing water with some accompanying pads and oh my.
This bottle has changed my make-up removing laziness and I like to use it to cleanse my skin after using my Soap and glory peaches and clean as the micellar water leaves my skin feeling fantastic, so glad I followed the raves about this product!
This was a large group picture I took to show all the other its and bobs I've bought, Mostly through Easter presents and payday.
On the beauty side of things I picked up a few primark nails, after being slightly disappointed with some a while back I decided to try again after hearing lily melrose praise them, I picked up an adorable strawberry set and a cute daisy set.
Making a visit to superdrug, which I possibly do way too often (opps) I was on the hunt for a nice smelling body butter, After using up the small tub of strawberry body butter from the body shop, I just knew I could find another nice smelling cheap one and oh boy I did. This cherry and macadamia body butter smells divine and cost only £2! brilliant.
Also on the hunter for a face primer which I have been needed for a while I picked up MUA's offering at only £3 Why not. I had previously wanted to try the maybelline baby skin pore eraser but could not justify the spending at all!
Lastly I went to lush, uncertain of whether i wanted to buy anything. I've wanted the bubblegum scrub for a long while now but as lush is pretty expensive, I never really had the spare money, however after a little chat with one of the ladies who always seems to serve me the few times i do go there I took the plunge and went for it. I'm happy I did, before using this my lips that been in awful condition and it was really bothering me, now they feel soft and lovely. (plus it tastes amazing...)
Also in the photo at the top of the post you may have noticed a lip product, after much debate I picked up a Tanya burr lip gloss in the colour 'Vampire kiss' but I'll be posting about that shortly
On the fashion side of things, I may admit I am addicted to shirts and collars, my wardrobe is slowly being overtaken by them, But maybe that collection is a post for another time. The peachy shirt with the gorgeous black trim was a present from my mum, I do know she picked it up from select however, as I had been eyeing it up myself already.
I myself picked up the other two items, with the mint green cami top at £6 from select, I got it as I feel my wardrobe is really lacking in layering items and I could do with a few simple basics added to it. The other top is a black shirt that is slightly cropped with an adorable peter pan collar, the material of this one is also a bit usual for a shirt, more stretchy but still very very comfy.
This was a pretty simple purchase, I needed some more shoes and you can't go wrong with black plimsolls from primark, especially considering how cheap they are, as well as actually sturdy.
This is a better picture of the things I got for Easter, the striped clothing item you see is a long sleeved dress, However in my eagerness to wear it I didn't get a better picture and it seems to have disappeared in the wash! darn. it was around £5 from primark ( yet again)
Last but not least I got a new bag! this gorgeous browny-tan coloured satchel was only £9 from primark! can you believe it? £9! It's also very sturdy. Not at all thin of flimsy feeling like some bags you can find it primark, I've been using it for my college bag and it fits all my books in no problem. A bit more boringly I got some leggings as well as mine often seem to disappear in this house...

And that's all folks! quite a lot of stuff but I am rather happy with it all, I won't be able to do much more shopping anytime soon as large as what i've got here but It was nice to feel quite spoiled and do a lot of retail therapy
