Superdrug Beauty Haul

So hi...

So I've been in major need of a few make-up bits for a while now but have just kept putting off visiting superdrug to buy some due to wanting to save money or just not having the time or just straight up laziness. But my concealer was basically empty and I was dying for some new bits. SO I went and made a little order on Superdrug, and may have picked up a few more things than I had planned to.... Whoops.

So my original plan was that I wanted a new concealer, Preferably collections lasting perfection one as it was always out of stock when I had gone in store the last few visits so I thought as an online order I had to get it. I had also planned to pick up a blending sponge as I've never tried them and lastly on my list was to browse a new foundation to try. I've been getting bored of my current one and wanted to try something new. but I ended up getting those things and a few extras. by accident of course.

Makeup Revolution:Antibacterial Brush Cleaner.
This was the first addition to my basket. I'm super bad with washing my brushes, it's probably the chore I hate most when it comes to make-up, so when I saw this I was immediately interested in the potential of a way to make cleaning my make-up brushes easier. I'm actually looking forward to cleaning my brushes just to try this baby out. yay to being lazy!

Makeup Revolution: Fortune favours the brave palette.
I'm a sucker for pretty looking packages and make up, this one is definitely a because it looked super pretty purchases. I've actually been really feeling trying out different eye shadow combinations and stuff recently as well and these colours are so damn gorgeous.

Makeup Revolution: Ultra Sculpt & Blend Brush Collection.
As I mentioned before, I was looking to get a blending sponge, and I noticed this little set and thought I could do with some new brushes as well. It's like a perfect little set for the whole face!

Wake Me Up Foundation: in Light Porcelain.
Now I actually have this foundation already, but it was in the wrong shade, way too dark. I actually quite liked the formula of it, so I thought I would try it again in my actual shade.

MUA Luxe Strobe & Glow Highlight kit.
A bit of an unsure purchase here, just to encourage myself to use highlight more, the look of this product is also super nice.

MUA eyebrow pen: in blonde.
I'm not actually that big when it comes to eyebrows, I only got mine plucked at the end of last year for the first time, I just never had ant issues with my eyebrows, I think they are alright, or I did. I've now started wanting to tame and shape my brows a little more, so an eyebrow pencil would be good.

MUA Hide and conceal Concealer: in Fair.
This is more a re-buy, I've been using this while I haven't been able to get hold of collection lasting perfection concealer, It's a good'un and conceals all my face nasties well.

MUA cover and conceal wand: in Fair.
Another concealer, I went a little crazy I know. This is just another one to try out, It was pretty cheap and it doesn't hurt to try out new things right?

Collection lasting perfection concealer: in fair.
And here it is. My favourite concealer, following a common trend among bloggers, but I really can't help it. It's a damn good product that does it's job well, what can I say.

Collection lasting colour lipstick: in fig delight.
Because if anything I definitely needed more red/cherry toned lipsticks in my life right. OF COURSE. This beaut from collection is a lovely brown toned colour and it makes me feel super sophisticated and classy.

MUA Luxe whipped velvet lips: in Majestic.
Whoops, another actual red colour? well damn. that must have just slipped in there, it would be a shame not to make use of it now right? right.

Rimmel Kate Lipstick Nude collection: In 42.
I've never been a nude lipstick person, I usually stick with reds or dark purple colours, I always think that nudes would just make me look pasty and washed out but I've had a nude pink colour before and thought I would give this nude colour a try, It seems like the perfect pinky brown nude, and actually looks pretty close to my actual lip colour which is cool.

Beauty: Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum.

So hi...

So while in Bath (I know mentioning it again) I done a small amount of shopping which included a new foundation, as much as I loved the urban decay sample I had, it's finally run out after using it for a good couple of weeks. So I was due a new foundation, and not being able to afford the full sized urban decay foundation meant trying out a new high street offering, after looking around Superdrug I picked up 2, Collections foundation ( Which I realized I picked up in the wrong colour, damn it) and the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation in Vanille Clair.

The Bourjois Serum has been quite agreeable, it's the right colour for a start, you think at 20 I'd know my own skin tone properly. Anyway, it also is a nice consistence and goes onto my skin smoothly. It doesn't feel too heavy and lasts a relatively long time before my grim oily combination skin starts to poke through.

I'd seen the healthy mix serum floating around the blogging world for a while and heard nothing but good from it but I'm a poor student and I like to take minimal risks when it comes to purchasing base products, because it's unlikely I'll be able to purchase more for a decent time after, the only reason I bt the bullet this time was the feeling of being on holiday and having a decent amount of birthday money of me meant I felt a little more willing to spend, and boy I'm glad I was, this doesn't feel quite as great and covering as the urban decay offering but it'll be a good in between till I get my hands on that little gem.

Have you made any slightly on impulse beauty purchases recently?

Beauty Mini Haul

So hi...

So you may or may not know (you probably should know) but I am a student! and as such the third term of student finance has just hit student bank accounts everywhere! It's a glorious time for us depraved lot to give ourselves a little pick me up of spending! Now I'm quite sensible with my student finance and know what I can and can't spend! so today is only a mini haul but still a haul. I went into superdrug last week and treated myself to a few new bits!

Firstly I picked up three new items from Make-up revolution. I decided to try their focus and fix concealer as mine is currently running low and collection's lasting perfection was nowhere to be seen. Next was yet another lipstick as I'm obsessed and you just can't go wrong with a £1 lipstick. It's a bright purple/pink colour and it's fab. Lastly I treated myself to a new eye shadow palette, I picked up the 'Girls on Film' palette as I loved the mix of smokey dark colours it has in it as I feel it's really my jam.

Next I went to my good old MUA, I actually got three items from here as well but like an amateur didn't photograph the bronzer I picked up as I was too excited in using it. But yeah I got that. As well as that I picked up yet another nil polish (as if I didn't have enough) in the shade 'ultramarine'. IT's a beautiful mixture of blue and purple and I already have it on my nails. Last is another concealer product, the hide and conceal concealer stick in fair, just as a product to try out because why not?
It was 3 for 2 in Superdrug so I got £2 off my whole purchase as a few items were only £1 each, but as well as that I gor this #makeup Bag free aswell! well impressed, I'm thinking to use it for my daily make-up choices and use another of my bags to collect favourites and products to review/rave about since I'm thinking of doing more of those!
Bought any new make-up bits and bobs recently? let me know down in the comments below!

A New Everyday Make-up Routine.

So hi.

Recently I've found that my make-up routine has changed a lot and I find my make-up looking a lot smoother and more flawless as a result, so I thought I would tell you all my make-up routine, I don't think it's anything special. More so that I've gotten much better with my ability to blend and generally apply my make-up, which makes me rather happy.

I think two things have greatly contributed to my improved make-up routine, discovering the usefulness of a primer and decent make-up brushes.

The make up brushes I use are unbranded ones I order for only a couple of quid from Tmart, they are soft and fluffy and do the job well, they are also in need of cleaning I know.

For my primer I use MUA's Primer, It was £4 and my first choice in experimenting with primers as I didn't want to spend to much then possibly not like it, I'm looking forward to trying some other primers though.

After priming I use my concealer, which although has been collections lasting perfection offering for a while, after struggling to get another from my local Superdrug, I gave Rimmel's wake me up concealer and I really like it, I'd be so bold as to say I think it's just as good as collection's one.

Next is foundation and recently I haven't been using foundation too much because of the hot weather but when I do it's the Super stay better skin foundation from Maybelline, I think it really goes on well on my skin and I love the finish it gives me. It's the best foundation I've tried so far. I then contour my face with the Two-faced No makeup palette, I absolutely love this product, I bought it off Tmart like I did with the brushes and it wasn't listed as a brand product but when it arrived I was excited, It has the a contour, highlight, cream and powder blush and a shimmer bronzer. and with my face all done and looking the best I could hope I use Rimmel Stay matte powder to set it all and give my face a matte effect.

Next up I do my eyes, if I can be bothered with eye shadow, I get out the Naked 3 Palette, my favourite colours are burnout, limit, liar and mugshot. After is the cat flick which I use either Superliner by Loreal or Collection's Extreme 24 hour liner, followed by mascara, I use two mascaras, firstly Collection's no clumps which gives me good length to build up on and then I use Miss Manga by Loreal.

And that's my make up done, there's also lipstick but I change it up so often, but as I would say I'd mostly use a shade of red, I photopraphed Apocolips in Big bang and the Rimmel Kate moss in  01.

What's your make-up routine like?

Payday haul!

So hi...
The end of may gave me a rather decent payday due to lots of events and Luton down going up in the league and being busy. This meant I finally had a chance to pick myself up some summer clothes, which I have been desperate for! especially for some new dresses, I managed to pick up quite a few bits and the day itself was lovely as after shopping me and Ross went to see the new X-Men film and had a lovely carvery afterwards, it was great. Anyway back onto the bits I picked up!

So firstly thought I would go through the bottoms I got, the three shorts are all from primark, with the mint green and purple shorts priced at £5 which is pretty good as they fit comfortably and look nice.
The striped pair were slightly higher at £7 but still very worth it, they are also slightly longer than the others, which are almost like short shorts, which some people may not feel comfortable with.
The jeggings I collected from Select, I'm wholly converted to jeggings, I hardly wear jeans and jeggings are just the perfect bottom for me, these ones were about £12 and has lovely lace detailing on the pockets.
When I headed out for my day of shopping I made an little objective to buy at least two dresses and i'm proud to say that objective was met! The Aztec dress was from Primark at a bargain of £5, it's pretty, perfectly summery and the colours are not neon bright which is a trend i'm not keen on for clothing in summer.
The second dress was from select ( can you tell what shops are my favourite?) and i absolutely love this dress, it sits gorgeously and I could easily dress it either up or down for day or night time wear, and the lace detailing on the front trim of the dress is just amazingly cute, I think this was £14.

Made a visit to Superdrug on my travels ( hoe surprising) And picked up these three products.
The Rimmel Kate Moss Lasting Colour Lipsticks were on offer at £3.99 and as I love my matte kate moss lipstick how could I refuse, I picked up the gorgeous red shade 01, Despite my lipstick collection already 80% shades of red. I just couldn't risk and it was definitely a good call as I love it.
Next is another MUA nail varnish, in the shade bold blue this is a perfect colour for summer and I already have this on my nails as I type!
Last but not least was yet another can of Dry shampoo, I picked up Bastiste in a cherry scent, which I thought would be rather interesting to try as I usually go for the safe option of floral.

And that was that, a good few purchases to keep me satisfied... until next payday that is!
Get any nice summer buys recently?

Late May Favourites!

So hi...

May seemed to have gone ridiculously quick which I partially blame this on the stress induced from exams. 6 exams down and 3 to go may has been busy. Revision and exams are also why I'm posting this a few days late, forgive me!
Any way lets get down to it!

This month was probably one of my busiest so far, I hadn't planned it to be but you know when plans just seem to pop up all of the place and stuff just gets done? that was me this month. Full of sociable outings in both the day and night and much stressing over revision, I also got productive with the blog, but that's for another post. I got to love a load of products and random non beauty things this month too, but beauty first.

 Garnier Micellar Cleansing water.
Sometime in April I picked this up hearing nothing but good things, now when it comes to make-up removal... I am mighty lazy, I always get it off just probably not as well as I should, I tend to crash after about 9pm and all my energy just disappears so this product, claiming easy make-up removal sounded perfect. AND I can say after a month of use it's amazing, it makes my skin feel lovely and refreshed and removes all my make-up with ease and without hassle, Beautiful.

Superdrug's own brand Restoring Skin Care Oil.
This is a little bit of a sensitive topic for me but I was in hospital and had operation to remove cysts when i was 13 and again last year, the first operation left awful scars and stitches that were done rather sloppy, This means my stomach doesnt look too pretty, the second time round they attempted to fix the previous scars but there is only so much that can be done. So now I am left with 6 operation scars covering my stomach and it's rather un-nerving, so i thought i would try this product just to help, and I felt like it has a lot, as I said they will be there all my life but they are less noticeable now, which is great.

Lush Bubble Gum lip scrub.
I absolutely adore this product, it smells amazing, feels amazing on my lips and once it's done its job and i'm happy, I can just lick the rest on it off my lips, how great??? I also feel like this will last me ages as a little goes a long way, I wanted this product for a good few months before I finally caved and got it but i'm so glad I did.

The Body Shop Strawberry body butter.
I'm sad to say I've run out of this product. I got it in a gift set full of a variety of strawberry scented goodies and immediately fell in love, It soaked into my skin quickly so i didn't have to awkward stand around and it lightly fragrance my body to smell of strawberries, And wo doesn't love strawberries eh??
Naked 2 Palette.
Now I'll admit straight away, this is not the real deal, I don't think as I bought it from T-mart.com for under £10! Definitely not the price tag naked is known for, It also didn't say it was the naked palette but after comparing it with swatches and seeing another blogger buy this product I thought why not. Now I can't compare it to the real naked palette as I don't own it but I have thoroughly loved this product, The pigment of the eye shadows are good and  the brush you get with it is great and soft to use as well! So worth it.

Two Faced- No Makeup Makeup.
This was another purchase from T-mart.com, however when I put this in my basket i didn't realise it would come as a two-faced product and was pleasantly surprised, I think with T-mart although there are no brand names on the site a lot of the products are if you search, that's my guess anyway. Back to the product, I bought this as a all in one palette to experiment with contour blush highlights and bronzer as I steered away from bronzer because of my paleness and had fell out of love with my cream blusher. I know absolutely adore this product, It's amazing for really polishing of my make-up look and giving it a much more natural product, I'm really interested in trying more two-faced products now as this one was just amazing.

MUA Nail Polish in Sweet peach.
There isn't much explaining for this product, I just think it's a great colour for your nails in summer, it's a lovely and bright peachy coral colour and at only £1, What's not to love?

MUA pro-base Primer
Another product I bought to try out as I always stuggle with making my make-up(mostly the base) Last for a full day and so I thought I would try a primer, and not wanting to spend loads on a product I may not like I went for MUA's primer which cost only £4. I am now converted to the magic of a primer, I feel that it makes my make-up last longer and look more flawless, I'm interested to try other primers as well, Any suggestions?

Collection Lipstick in Vintage Rose.
This lipstick has been in my bag pretty much all month, It's just a perfect 'your lips but better' colour for me as my natural lip colour is pinky, So this lipstick just brings that out. It's great whenever I'm feeling lazy or want to look nice but proper out there with a red lip, Or if I want more focus on my eyes this colour is good. Really It's just an all round good'un.

That's all the beauty related favourites, now for the more random favourites of this month.

Dark Souls.
Now this is my inner gamer coming out here but I love this game. so many of my friends hate it because it's known for it's difficulty and even says on the case  'prepare to die' but i love the challenge. I love long open games that have a lot of detail in the story and provide a lot of challenge, I'm a bit of a perfectionist and refuse to leave the game unfinished! it's a great game, I'm also looking forward to playing dark souls 2.

Phone case.
This is probably the most random but I bought this online to protect the new phone I bought about 2 months ago and now I couldn't be without it, It has two pockets on the inside that I put my college card and bus tickets in which is super useful. and Obviously it does the great job of protecting my phone!

Young Guns.
Music wise I've been really enjoying young guns, their album bones in particular. My favourite songs are 'Bones' and 'I was born, I have lived, I will surely die' I high recommend them for people to give a listen to

Sweet Potato.
I have seriously been liking Sweet potato this month, especially as chips, they are healthier and just tastes so nice! It's also nice as mash. I've been on a little healthy eating thing

Pamper Night.

So hi...

I think all girls have a set of products or a little routine they have for when they just need to unwind and relax in the bath, with this in mind I thought I'd show off my products and my little routine for a nice pampered bath time.

So these are typically all the products I'll typically use if I want a little paper evening, If i had a bath bomb I'd usually use one as well however I am currently out of bath bombs so maybe a visit to lush will be needed sometime soon!
While in the bath I tend to use my soap and glory sugar crush body wash, It's foamy and smells divine, I'll then use the body shop strawberry shower oil, I have a weakness for fruit smells when it comes to bodycare. when I paired the strawberry butter and shower gel, I lived in strawberry scent it was amazing. although cherry smell is just as nice. The restoring skin care oil from Superdrug I use after I've done everything else for my operation marks and I've been having issue with stretch marks near my operation scars which has been really hitting my confidence, So this oil has been helping a lot, plus it's a lot cheaper than bio-oil etc...

Once I'm finished in the bath, or shower, I tend to do my little face cleansing routine, with my Clearasil vitamins and extracts wash and mash, and I 'll leave that on for 6 minutes or so while I'll moisturize my body and put in my hair mask, I'll then use my peaches and clean cleanse from soap and glory followed by Nivea oil free moisturizing day cream.
So For moisturizing I used this cherry and macadamia body butter from Superdrug, this stuff smells SO good. And This hair mask which I'll use when my hair is feeling really lifeless, it does a pretty good job and my hair always lasts a little longer in terms of washing, As I tend to need to wash my hair almost everyday and it's very thick and gets greasy rather quickly, it's a giant pain.

And really that's it, not too many products but they do.

We'll talk soon lovelies!

Collective haul! Primark, Select, Superdrug, Etc..

So hi...

I may have been doing a few bits of shopping over the last few weeks, when I had my operation and was house bound for a week I took it as an opportunity to order a few bits online, so i could have some happiness in the form of parcels at my door! As well as that I have been in to town a lot over the Easter holidays and picked up a number of bits and bobs which I thought would be nice to show all together in a collective haul of all the things I've got!

So For Easter I got a £20 mall voucher from my dad as he doesn't buy me and my sisters chocolate, So I went to primark to pick up a few home bits for my self, the thought of Uni and my own place has recently made my interest in homey bits increase dramatically!

While In primark I picked up a few candles, recommended by my candle obsessed mother who swore to me that despite the price they were actually scented when you burnt them. And they actually do, I preferred the small pots at £1 each as you can probably tell from the photo, but the bigger vanilla and coconut candle at £2 was very nice also. I've made a mental note to collect a few more of these soon.
I also picked up some face clothes as I was lacking in them and primark was having a home sale event so they were only £1.50! nice.
On a separate trip I also picked up the much talked about, Garnier micellar cleansing water with some accompanying pads and oh my.
This bottle has changed my make-up removing laziness and I like to use it to cleanse my skin after using my Soap and glory peaches and clean as the micellar water leaves my skin feeling fantastic, so glad I followed the raves about this product!
This was a large group picture I took to show all the other its and bobs I've bought, Mostly through Easter presents and payday.
On the beauty side of things I picked up a few primark nails, after being slightly disappointed with some a while back I decided to try again after hearing lily melrose praise them, I picked up an adorable strawberry set and a cute daisy set.
Making a visit to superdrug, which I possibly do way too often (opps) I was on the hunt for a nice smelling body butter, After using up the small tub of strawberry body butter from the body shop, I just knew I could find another nice smelling cheap one and oh boy I did. This cherry and macadamia body butter smells divine and cost only £2! brilliant.
Also on the hunter for a face primer which I have been needed for a while I picked up MUA's offering at only £3 Why not. I had previously wanted to try the maybelline baby skin pore eraser but could not justify the spending at all!
Lastly I went to lush, uncertain of whether i wanted to buy anything. I've wanted the bubblegum scrub for a long while now but as lush is pretty expensive, I never really had the spare money, however after a little chat with one of the ladies who always seems to serve me the few times i do go there I took the plunge and went for it. I'm happy I did, before using this my lips that been in awful condition and it was really bothering me, now they feel soft and lovely. (plus it tastes amazing...)
Also in the photo at the top of the post you may have noticed a lip product, after much debate I picked up a Tanya burr lip gloss in the colour 'Vampire kiss' but I'll be posting about that shortly
On the fashion side of things, I may admit I am addicted to shirts and collars, my wardrobe is slowly being overtaken by them, But maybe that collection is a post for another time. The peachy shirt with the gorgeous black trim was a present from my mum, I do know she picked it up from select however, as I had been eyeing it up myself already.
I myself picked up the other two items, with the mint green cami top at £6 from select, I got it as I feel my wardrobe is really lacking in layering items and I could do with a few simple basics added to it. The other top is a black shirt that is slightly cropped with an adorable peter pan collar, the material of this one is also a bit usual for a shirt, more stretchy but still very very comfy.
This was a pretty simple purchase, I needed some more shoes and you can't go wrong with black plimsolls from primark, especially considering how cheap they are, as well as actually sturdy.
This is a better picture of the things I got for Easter, the striped clothing item you see is a long sleeved dress, However in my eagerness to wear it I didn't get a better picture and it seems to have disappeared in the wash! darn. it was around £5 from primark ( yet again)
Last but not least I got a new bag! this gorgeous browny-tan coloured satchel was only £9 from primark! can you believe it? £9! It's also very sturdy. Not at all thin of flimsy feeling like some bags you can find it primark, I've been using it for my college bag and it fits all my books in no problem. A bit more boringly I got some leggings as well as mine often seem to disappear in this house...

And that's all folks! quite a lot of stuff but I am rather happy with it all, I won't be able to do much more shopping anytime soon as large as what i've got here but It was nice to feel quite spoiled and do a lot of retail therapy

London and Half Term Haul!

So Hi..

I did a post recently that I visited London with my best friend, Ross and our adventures and the retail therapy that we both participated in. I thought I should definitely do a little haul to show you all what I bought! Most of the products were things I've wanted to try for a while and sort of went 'what the heck' and took them merrily to the till.

Firstly I took a trip to Primark in my town the Sunday before London to check out the new beauty collection they have released called Ps. Beauty.
Honestly I was kind of gutted as I didn't spot many things but I presume that's down to the rather small Primark in my town, maybe I should have waited to look in the London oxford street primark but alas. I did pick up three bits. One was simply just 2 eyeliner pencils as my black ones are a bit on the short side and for £1.50 why not?
I also picked up two moisturising lip crayons, One in a bright red colour and the other in a rather natural nude colour, these are nice for lazy days where I don't want to worry about lipstick too much.

While in london I also visited Sugerdrug, What can I say it's my favourite store for relatively cheap make-up. I found the MUA section... Oh it was so much bigger and stocked full of goodies!
I couldn't help but pick up two more nail polishes and can you blame me? these two are just beautiful. the pale mint green is call 'Pistachio Ice cream' and the gorgeous pinky colour is 'Bright Coral' I've already had both these colours on my nails and absolutely love them, I think they will be perfect in the warmer months.
Now call me a make-up Noob ( which I really am) but I do not own or use lip liners all that often, I just didn't really think about it, However recently I've been wanting to get a slicker, neater feel from my lipstick and decided to try these two MUA lip liners to cover my red lipsticks and I've pleased to report that I an converted, I felt the lipstick looks much much cleaner with a no bleeding throughout the day and I am definitely wanting to get a few more lip liners
This next buy has been delayed for a long time. I picked up the Maybelline Superstay Better Skin foundation as I had read some good reviews about it and It just honestly peeked my interest when I had seen it in store, So I finally just went for it and picked it up in london, I'm really loving in at the moment and it's currently my everyday foundation.
Of course, I just couldn't help but pick up yet another MUA lipstick while I was there, I love this more neutral pinky colour, I've been wanting a wider range of neutral colours recently as my lip collection is full of cold bright reds and this just fit the bill, It's a pale brown tones pink but looks gorgeous on, Very my lips but better.
I also picked up this much paler baby pink which I also adore! I had worried it would wash me out but it doesn't and I love it
After seeing a few reviews I was set on trying out the L'Oreal Miss manga mascara and although i love the package and name, even the brush I am gutted to say it didn't seem to work amazingly on my lashes, Maybe it's just me as it's looked amazing on other people just not me, i still do like it as it's a good product, just not the 'manga eyes' i was expecting

Now I didn't actually but this as I got this from my mother but thought I would include it any way, It's waterproof as well which is a bonus and I'm eager to test that claim

And that's all folks, Quite a few bits that should.. I say SHOULD keep me satisfied for a while, I bought some non make-up bits as well but that's for another post!

We'll talk soon lovelies!
