Sunglasses Galore

So hi...

Although it doesn't really feel like it when you look outside the window, summer is fast approaching. As such I decided to dig out my sunglasses with the hopes that it would encourage the sun to make a few appearances. After digging them all out I realised, damn. I have a fair few pairs of sunglasses, which you know, I'm willing to show off to you all. I'm pretty sure they were all mostly from Primark and under like £2/3 but they do the job and I like them.

These 5 are the actual proper pairs that I own. I also have 3 pairs of bright blue glasses that I've acquired from my student union but I don't really feel like I'll be wearing them casually. Sorry BCUSU. All of these were primark except the purple pair which I actually bought in spain last year as I had forgot to take some with me. The white and pick pairs are also pretty new and unused an I had gotten them at the end of  summer last year and so I didn't actually get a chance to wear them all that much. My favourite pair are just the normal black pair, because I'm boring and they are the old faithful pair that can go with any outfit.
I like to think I have a pair of sunglasses to suit any mood or outfit I might fancy in summer.
Do you own more than 1 or 2 pairs of sunglasses?

Boohoo Summer wishlist

So hi...

Another wishlist post today! To be honest this is more of a general clothes wishlist than a summer one but hey ho, it is coming up to the summer now so it seemed pretty appropriate. I'm pretty much obsessed with Boohoo, I don't know why but I just find the site the easiest to shop through and I love the clothes on there so ya know.

For once I don't completely hate my current wardrobe, I mean I still think it doesn't really portray the style I want to go for but it's definitely getting there and I feel much more comfortable and stylish in what I'm wearing so that's a good thing. I'm liking to just window shop at the moment though, also since I really want to change my wardrobe into a capsule wardrobe I'll hopefully not be buying many clothes ever anyway so you know. but that all depends on how well behaved I am.

St.Patrick's Day OOTD

So hi...

Happy St.Patricks Day! When you're seeing this I'll be celebrating in Dublin! woop woop. Anyway today's a quick one to show two outfits I've put together themed for the day!

So this first outfit is super simple. It's a swing dress I got from boohoo super cheap, I think it was around £8? I bought it intending to wear it on paddy's day. Although I like it, It just doesn't sit as nicely on as I hoped and the neckline goes a tiny bit too low. to the point that I would be overly conscious of it the whole day, making it less enjoyable! But I do love the dress and will still be taking it with me, maybe for one of the other days I'm there.

The Second outfit I absolutely love as it's built around the amazing patterned mini skirt. It still keeps with the green them as well with a basic top tucked into the skirt and then some tights, I'll definitely be changing into this at some point on paddy's day, just decided not to start in it as I didn't think I'd enjoy having to watch my skirt while travelling.

The last outfit is the one I decided to wear on the plane, It's this super cool baggy dress that I actually stole off my mum ( hurray for mums with good clothes, or just mum generally, you rock mums.) so I don't actually know where it was that she picked it up from but I love it. The cut out shoulders and golden detailing makes me feel so cool and chic in it, and the bagginess makes it comfortable while still nice due to the fitted bottom.

What are you wearing this St. Patrick's day? Are you celebrating it at all?

The Capsule Wardrobe: The Plan

So hi...

I love the concept of a capsule wardrobe. I recently rewatched all of Vivannadoesmakeup's videos on her capsule wardrobe and swooning a little. It's just such a clean and organised way to keep clothes and get rid of the useless crap that just ends up collecting dust at the bottom of the wardrobe.
As such I've been thinking about how to start making my own wardrobe a capsule wardrobe. Now I don't think I could really do as good as Vivianna with only 36 items each season. I've made myself a breakdown of what I'd like to have in my wardrobe in total as in all honesty, I want to just completely rebuild my wardrobe as I feel like I've collected a lot of things that I don't really care for or just don't reflect my style all that much.
Anyway This will be in some form a mini series?
The break up will be the plan now, then when I have time after my recent assignment dates are past.  ( UGhH Second term assignments why you all so close together!).
Now I've thought to plan for 100 items overall, and in this includes Shoes, Dresses, Tops, Bottoms (with sub categories of shorts trousers and skirts!) and then Coats.
This plan may change, as I collect things I may notice I've missed items out or that I don't actually need as much as planned, it's a learning curve.
Let''s go.
Breakdown! 100 items.

Coats: 14
Shoes: 14
Tops: 30
Dresses: 10
Bottoms: 42
 -Shorts: 10
 -Skirts: 7
 -Trousers: 15

That's the basic breakdown I've decided on, these would then be swapped out and changed around for each season.
Just a note, the 14 coats are because I've considered hoodies in that category which are basically my life, always gonna have about 5 of them. Student life yo.

Now is the long process of clearing through my wardrobe and deciding what I would actually keep as apart of this system.

Do you have a capsule wardrobe? any tips?

Boohoo Spring wishlist.

So hi...

Man oh man, it's been a while since I've done a wishlist post, kinda forgot they existed if I'm honest.
But now that it's getting a little warmer ( By that I mean only SLIGHTLY warmer... like sun where you at?) I thought it was about time for one, this is also a way I like to fantasise about all the clothes I would get for the new season if I wasn't a broke ass bitch. It's tough.

I'm obsessed with boohoo lately, although I can't get many new pretty things often the last 5/6 orders of clothes I've gotten have been from boohoo. I'm feeling like cosy clothes are still my jam to be honest, spring is always weird in the UK since it's supposed to be getting warmer and the skies are blue, but damn that chilly wind hasn't left yet.
So I like to have cosy but lightweight jumpers and jackets.
Also feeling the party pieces because only 7 weeks till I've finished my 2nd year of uni..
Which dear god it's terrifying. 2 years at Birmingham already.

February Favourites: 2016

So hi...

I love how well February favourites just rolls off the tongue don't you?

Anyway, this month has been one of trying new things and really just setting myself up for the year. As I also started blogging again this year it generally made me think about all the beauty and skincare products I have which in turn lead to me experimenting and actually having a decent amount of favourites to share. It's usually the case that I just never have enough different favourites to keep up each month but we'll see how that goes. My favourites this month are a decent mixture of beauty fashion and arty type stuff so here goes.

-Tablet: So my biggest favourite this month (and this year really) has definitely been my WACOM bamboo tablet, I can't believe I ever stopped using it. I think it was because I was 15 or so and didn't really understand the possibilities and didn't have a good program to go with it. It was also around the time that I started to go out a lot more and was basically out the house most of the time. since then it was just sitting in my under bed storage gathering dust. When I started really getting back into drawing and sketching I remembered that I had it and dug it out, and well it's sat comfortably in front of my laptop since.

-Diary: If I keep up using and updating my diary, it'll probably be a favourite every month, because who doesn't like feeling organised and in control of their life? I actually have two diaries, This one photographed is my main one which stays on my desk and I write in each night for my to-do lists and planned outings etc. And I carry one basic diary if my bag if case I need to write something down for a plan or exams at uni or just generally while I'm out. It's been a good month for organization!

-Mist You Madly: This has been a huuge favourite. S&G products are always amazing,  have yet to find a product I didn't really like, and most of them also smell amazing, this product is no different. it's super nice to just spray  a bit in the morning before leaving and it just lingers. I'm not really great at explaining scents but yu can definitely tell it's a soap and glory product and has a bit of a sweet smell, it's starting to get low as well and it's making me so sad.

-#Makeup Bag: This bag was actually a free extra I got in superdrug, I think it was just for spending over a certain amount but I really like it, It's a perfect size and I use it for make up pieces that I want to try or use but aren't really a part of my everyday make-up or it won't fit in my everyday make-up basket. It's also a good size to use for short trips as a travel bag, as such I'll be using this for the make-up I take to Ireland.

-Sleek Storm Palette: This is a re-find. I bought this palette ages ago after seeing a lot about how good sleek was for their eye shadows, when I bought it I used it almost daily, but as I also bought the naked palettes and have just generally increased my palette collection, this beauty got buried a little bit sadly. Since I have been making an effort to look through my make-up and skincare collection more often however I found this palette again and it's sat in my daily make-up basket, which I think is where it will stay for a few weeks yet.

-Nars Satin lip pencil in Majella: Another re-find. I actually wasn't keen on this when I first bought it. I got it from paris, exactly about a year ago now and I think I expected it to be some miracle product as it was and still is my first and only NARS product, But finding it and trying it again, it is a very good product and feels nice on my lips, I've been having trouble with lipsticks in general recently and just not liking the way any lipstick looks or applies but this was different and has slowly helped me regain my lipstick confidence.

-Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel eyeliner 24h: I had recently run out of eyeliner pen. Well not run out as such but the current eye liner I was using was actually starting to dry out and getting really annoying to apply smoothly and with precision, so I Thought I would get the gel liner back out again. I'm pretty decent with gel liner, I don't have many problems getting a sharp line, I've practised so much generally in applying eyeliner that I like to think it's one of my strong points. Despite this, eyeliner pen is still usually my go to, it's just the easiest and quickest option, but I do prefer the colour and smoothness of gel, so I'm keeping with this for now, at least till I find a new liner I haven't tried yet to experiment with.

-: New look Scarf; Now I have recently written a post about this scarf which you can read and look at here.
Those are all my favourites for February, We'll see how March goes for favourites, you'll see more favourites posts for as long as I'm not super boring and changing up and trying new (or old) things.

What has been your favourite products or moment in February?

The All Purpose Boots.

So hi...

When I was writing up my winter scarf post ( here) I realised that I had also got myself some winter boots, well actually I hadn't actually bought for winter, but my favourite weather ready ankle boots were starting to fall apart and I thought it was about time to get myself some new boots, and making them winter appropriate would be best.

So I went looking around town for a bit for some new boots but I really wasn't too bothered about what they looked like, I just wanted some decent, not too expensive shoes as I really should have been saving for my holiday rather than spending ( at least that's what I'm trying to do). I walked into shoe zone as they had a few for sale signs but nothing on sale was really catching my eyes as nice but long lasting. then I spotted these, They aren't super pretty or anything, and look pretty much like a workman's boots, but honestly I really like them, they keep my feet warm and are perfect in the rain or really cold weather
I think I picked these up for about £18.99, which is a pretty decent size, I've found my favourite way to wear them is with some warm tights and socks with a skirt or some shorts and a comfy baggy top, They just add a cool little bit of edginess to an outfit which I'm a great fan of. I basically wear all of these boots all the time now since the weather has been so cold and it just can't decide whether to rain or not in a day, and I don't feel like risking my other shoes. So these are pretty much my 'Winter Boots'

Do you have any heavy duty weather ready shoes you love?

The Winter scarf.

So hi...

It's pretty damn cold right now. like freezing my butt off cold. As such, you gotta get those layers on. I've not had a coat for the last three or four weeks as I left my coat behind when I came back from my home town ( not on purpose of course) and so I've been relying of my trusty Brownman Twitch hoodie and this beauty of a scarf to keep me warm while walking to uni and just bracing the day.

The scarf is from New Look and was about £15, It's a tartan print as you can see and it's absolutely gorgeous. My previous scarf was from primark in a brighter red tartan print and as much as I still love that one it's not super thick and for someone without a coat it just wasn't warm enough.
This scarf is almost like a blanket scarf and it's huge and I can wrap it around my self like a shawl to keep me extra toasty.
Another bonus is that it's a reversible scarf, with one side sporting a blue and red tartan print and the other a small monochrome zigzag pattern. Means I can really play around with my outfit and wear the scarf as a more fashion or style piece as well as to keep me warm wrapped around my neck and tucked under my hoodie.
I have recently gotten myself a new coat, I was shocked to find that most places already had swapped out their coats section, like primark had it's bikini's out already??? So I struggled to find one really, I knew I wanted a parka and ended up getting a parka from the primark men's section, it's super oversized and super warm, Not really a coat for style but damn I'll be warm asf when me and my friends are going for late night walks or drives. Maybe I'll have a look for another coat for warmth and style, I'm thinking a blazer style..

What's your favourite scarf this winter?

Qwertee Haul

So hi...

So I haven't really done all that much shopping recently, with a holiday to Ireland planned for the end of March (Paddy's day woo) and trying to save I just can't really afford to go shopping crazy. I did however make a purchase from Qwertee.com. The site has 3 designs daily which are designed and voted for by the public/customers. they also have a little tee shop section where the most popular designs are kept around as usually the 3 designs are available for 24 hours before they are then gone forever. I've been eyeing up a few things on the site for a while but when I saw a Harry potter design dedicated to Snape/Alan Rickman I went for it. The Package arrived super quickly, I was informed it would ship on february 1st and arrive between February 7th-14th. It arrived 9th Feb, So super quickly. they also had little haribo packets inside which I thought was a dead cute touch.

The Deciding product on my Qwertee order was this 'Always' Snape design, which I brought as a jumper. (You can buy the design as a jumper or tee or hoody, super cool) after the passing of Alan Rickman, my feeds were flooded with this harry potter quote and it gave me all the feels. It's probably one of my all time favourite quotes. As soon as I saw this design on the site I had to have it. The jumper itself is super comfy and feel like such good quality. The design itself is also top knotch and hasn't been compromised by having it on the jumper. This is probably gonna be my new favourite to snuggle in.
The second product is another love. This design is a Tokyo ghoul design which is my favourite anime. I had seen this print on the Qwertee store and really wanted it but at the time couldn't really justify the purchase, It then seemed to disappear and I was devastated. However! while seeing the Snape design and just looking through the tee hop I spotted it again and  have never added something to my basket so quick, It's one of the best Tokyo Ghoul t-shirt designs I've seen and now its mine. Once again the quality is amazing, I bought this in a men's t-shirt for that extra comfort and bagginess and it's super cosy.
LAst but not least is this Lord of the Ring's print. Qwertee have a few of these 'Beer/Alcohol' Designs with lord of the rings having 2 other designs and I've been a jack skellington version too. I decided on this one as I just loved it the most and liked the black top background, It's a mens and just as good quality as the other two. I'm in love with it. Lord of the rings is my childhood bae.

And those are my first, but most definitely not my last purchase from Qwertee. I noticed they are all showing off my inner dork a little but I don't mind. Admittedly there's a load more designs and tee's I want to buy but these three were my favourite and i couldn't afford much more, Maybe next term eyy?
If you've never heard of Qwertee I'd definitely say go check them out. You're bound to find something you like and if you don't you can vote for a design you like and it may pop up!

Have you heard of Qwertee? what did you order?

My Instagram Life

So hi...

Instagram and Twitter are pretty much my favourite time waster. I am definitely a fan of scrolling through casually while avoiding getting out of bed in the mornings or when I'm waiting around for something or someone. Twitter is like my internal monologue and instagram is my vanity in photo form, it's great. Instagram is also where I post the 'best bits' which I think is a pretty normal thing for most people, and I thought I'd do little features maybe monthly of my activity on instagram, which will mostly be selfies but ya know.
I'll sometimes talk about the things that I didn't put up on instagram, like feeling sad at 3/4am in the morning or having my cards swallowed and cursing my life, you know, the not so 'best' bits.

In January I was really on it with the posting, and as you can see there is a clear theme of drawings and selfies. So shame. The selfie game felt strong the last few weeks, maybe I'm just getting more confident and happy with myself but either way I'll take it. And then the cheeky porridge shot most recently. Classic Instagram really.

The not so good bits as I mentioned were I had my debit cards taken by an ATM, which meant I missed out on an evening meal.
I had a really bad time with sleep, which I'm still kinda having, where I'll go a few days with barely an hour sleep each day.
And I got in a real downer about uni and my future, worrying about if I'm capable.

But I still had a good month, and the best bits still outweigh the not so good, I went lazer tag in a children soft play area, I got to grips with my course and enjoy it after my panicking and I feel more confident with myself, if you couldn't tell from the selfies ;)

What does your Instagram show of your life, Is it all fairytales, have any not so best bits?
