Superdrug Beauty Haul

So hi...

So I've been in major need of a few make-up bits for a while now but have just kept putting off visiting superdrug to buy some due to wanting to save money or just not having the time or just straight up laziness. But my concealer was basically empty and I was dying for some new bits. SO I went and made a little order on Superdrug, and may have picked up a few more things than I had planned to.... Whoops.

So my original plan was that I wanted a new concealer, Preferably collections lasting perfection one as it was always out of stock when I had gone in store the last few visits so I thought as an online order I had to get it. I had also planned to pick up a blending sponge as I've never tried them and lastly on my list was to browse a new foundation to try. I've been getting bored of my current one and wanted to try something new. but I ended up getting those things and a few extras. by accident of course.

Makeup Revolution:Antibacterial Brush Cleaner.
This was the first addition to my basket. I'm super bad with washing my brushes, it's probably the chore I hate most when it comes to make-up, so when I saw this I was immediately interested in the potential of a way to make cleaning my make-up brushes easier. I'm actually looking forward to cleaning my brushes just to try this baby out. yay to being lazy!

Makeup Revolution: Fortune favours the brave palette.
I'm a sucker for pretty looking packages and make up, this one is definitely a because it looked super pretty purchases. I've actually been really feeling trying out different eye shadow combinations and stuff recently as well and these colours are so damn gorgeous.

Makeup Revolution: Ultra Sculpt & Blend Brush Collection.
As I mentioned before, I was looking to get a blending sponge, and I noticed this little set and thought I could do with some new brushes as well. It's like a perfect little set for the whole face!

Wake Me Up Foundation: in Light Porcelain.
Now I actually have this foundation already, but it was in the wrong shade, way too dark. I actually quite liked the formula of it, so I thought I would try it again in my actual shade.

MUA Luxe Strobe & Glow Highlight kit.
A bit of an unsure purchase here, just to encourage myself to use highlight more, the look of this product is also super nice.

MUA eyebrow pen: in blonde.
I'm not actually that big when it comes to eyebrows, I only got mine plucked at the end of last year for the first time, I just never had ant issues with my eyebrows, I think they are alright, or I did. I've now started wanting to tame and shape my brows a little more, so an eyebrow pencil would be good.

MUA Hide and conceal Concealer: in Fair.
This is more a re-buy, I've been using this while I haven't been able to get hold of collection lasting perfection concealer, It's a good'un and conceals all my face nasties well.

MUA cover and conceal wand: in Fair.
Another concealer, I went a little crazy I know. This is just another one to try out, It was pretty cheap and it doesn't hurt to try out new things right?

Collection lasting perfection concealer: in fair.
And here it is. My favourite concealer, following a common trend among bloggers, but I really can't help it. It's a damn good product that does it's job well, what can I say.

Collection lasting colour lipstick: in fig delight.
Because if anything I definitely needed more red/cherry toned lipsticks in my life right. OF COURSE. This beaut from collection is a lovely brown toned colour and it makes me feel super sophisticated and classy.

MUA Luxe whipped velvet lips: in Majestic.
Whoops, another actual red colour? well damn. that must have just slipped in there, it would be a shame not to make use of it now right? right.

Rimmel Kate Lipstick Nude collection: In 42.
I've never been a nude lipstick person, I usually stick with reds or dark purple colours, I always think that nudes would just make me look pasty and washed out but I've had a nude pink colour before and thought I would give this nude colour a try, It seems like the perfect pinky brown nude, and actually looks pretty close to my actual lip colour which is cool.

St. Patricks Day Make-up!

So hi...

A day early with this one but I'll be having a OOTD post for paddy's day itself so look forward to that!
So paddy's day is something I tend to celebrate big, I have a lot of Irish in my mums side of the family and as long as I can remember everyone was out and about together for paddy's day. There's a lot of fond memories for me. Last year I was gutted to not do anything for paddy's day as I still had Uni, But this year I'll be in Ireland in the middle of Dublin for Paddy's day with family and friends and I can't wait, What better way to spend St. Patricks day!
As such I thought I would do a little showcase of what I'll be wearing on my face for paddy's day, well the part the makes it themed anyway.
So without meaning to I ended up using mainly Make-up Revolution Products. My base I used all my normal products that I would use daily, which I'll probably do an updated post on soon so be ready for that!
The main product I used was then the Acid brights palette, using the greens white and Orange as the Main look was to do two little irish flags on my eye lids, I also used two single Makeup revolution shadows in Temtpress and Frozen for underneath the eyes and a little of frozen over top of the white.

Here's a little swatch card to see what all the colours look off the skin. To Accompany the eyes I decided on this pretty coral coloured lipstick from Miss sporty, which I can't even tell you the shade name as the label has rubbed off. My bad!

These were pretty much perfect to create a super nice look, I then put gel black liner in a thin line over top, cause girl I love my cat flick.

And here's the finished look! Honestly I probably won't be able to make it look this good on the actual day as I'll be flying and also travelling alone I feel a bit silly dressed up ready to go out, Even though I shouldn't. I might just stop being a coward and just wear it from start to end.

Are you doing anything for St.Patricks day?

Rebel with cause & Rimmel 107

So hi...

Now it's pretty well know that the Kate moss Rimmel 107 is a glorious shade, Perfect for autumn as well. ( though I like it all year round) so when I was randomly looking through my lipstick and general make-up and picked up Make up Revolution's 'Rebel with Cause' I was surprised that I felt they were quite similar.

107 definitely has more red berry tones to it while Rebel with cause is more purple toned but they are both really pretty colours and perfect for the up coming months.

There's also the price difference, 107 is a few pound while Rebel with cause is a mere one pound, But you can tell with staying power and texture, I love the matte feel of Rimmel's 107 while Rebel with cause is a bit more wet? not sure that's the right word but we'll roll with it, It's also not quite a matte texture like 107, but I still like it.

Rimmel's 107 has much greater staying power, I wore out Rebel with cause a few days ago and found myself re-applying it a 5/6 times during the night, although this was with one meal and drinking in between so it may fair a lot better during a normal evening or day without a lot of drinking.
107 however tends to stay quite well even with drinking, leaving a nice looking stain when it does start to fade.

I'm not trying to build an argument as it seems like but just pointing out the two lipsticks pointers.
I really do feel the shades are similar to each other and it's nice to wear rebel with cause and feel like I'm going a little outside the box of not wearing 107 everyday and still get the perfect colour.

Do you have any shades that remind you of your favourite lipstick?

Mac Lipstick Wishlist.

So hi...

Now I'm not fortunate enough to have a mac counter in my home town so I've never really had the opportunity to buy any Mac products, but my want for them continues to grow, especially since reading a fair few blogs, I like the sound of a load of different mac products like the Eye shadows but the real gems for me are the Lipsticks and as much as I'd just like to own all of them that Isn't possible so I have a shortened list of the shade I'm lusting over.

Russian Red: One of the more popular shade next to Ruby Woo, This true dark red colour is to die for and although I own a similar shade, the higher quality will be amazing.

Velvet Teddy: I've seen this shade so many times of instagram and it took me a good 20/30 minutes to hunt down the name of the shade but it looks like the definition of 'My lips but perfect' and I can't wait to get my hands on it.

Lady Danger: Another Red colour with lovely orange tones, It's another I just want it colour, I'd love it for summer and when I want a red lip with  little difference.

Sin: Sin is an almost Burgundy colour and it looks so interesting, I don't have a colour like it and I just want it.

All Fired up: A bright Fuchsia colour, Gotta love a good bright lip.

And those are my top lusts from mac, as well as those I want to collect a palette of eye shadows and maybe try out the foundation and powders but I've heard very mixed reviews about those products.

Any Mac lipsticks you're lusting over?

The Autumn Lip.

So hi...

It is just me or has the cold come around a little too quickly? It still felt summery last week and now it's absolutely freezing! what's that about, anyway with that in mind I've been having a little look in my lipstick collection to see what lip colours I'll be using this autumn. I like to go two ways with lip colour in cold weather, either the typical dark berry and purple toned colours, or nude and lightly pink toned colours. I don't know why but they are just my thing for autumn and winter. So I got together a little collection of what I think I'll be reaching for this Autumn, and it's a fair few.

From the make up Revolution #Liphug collection there are three colours I'll be using, The top, darkest one is 'Saviour will come' It's a dark browny berry toned colour which would be nice for those milder nights out. The second colour is called 'To get lucky' and is a little similar to the first but is much lighter and has more of a reddy tone to it, I think this would be for days when I was feeling a little sassy. The last one is 'insatiable' and is a lovely Pink tone with a hint of red, a nice staple colour for any situation really.

And there's the rest, The two in the top are also from Make up Revolution and are the shades 'Rebel without Cause' which is a bright berry purple and the other from the Vamp shade collection is '100% vamp', a super dark, nearly black purple, definitely a vampiric color. Both would be for either nights out or a daring super cold day.
The next two are both from the Rimmel Moisture renew range, The first shade is 380 'Dark night Waterl-opps' a super pigmented plum Berry colour, perfect to keep my lips soft against the harsh weather and you gotta have a berry colour for the colder months, it's a must. The second shade is a vibrant dark pink shade called 360 'As you want Victoria' I can see myself wearing this the most, such a sassy and stand out pink.
The last two are the nude tones I mentioned and are different brands. The first is an oldie from Maybelline and from there water shine range, It's called 24 'Hazelnut sauce' And very much fits the name, it's a super browny nude colour, makes me feel super sophisticated, I'll be wearing this on the quick days where I wanna look effortlessly chic.
And the last which is a perfect my lips but better pink nude for me is from collection in the shade 13 'Vintage Rose'. Whenever I just can't be bothered but don't fancy looking a wreck at uni, I'll be slicking this on for a perfect pout.

And those are the picks for Autumn and winter, I will probably also be wearing 107 by Kate Moss because it's my most favourite lipstick of all time, but I talk about that enough so I left it out this time.

What will you be reaching for this Autumn?

Beauty: Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum.

So hi...

So while in Bath (I know mentioning it again) I done a small amount of shopping which included a new foundation, as much as I loved the urban decay sample I had, it's finally run out after using it for a good couple of weeks. So I was due a new foundation, and not being able to afford the full sized urban decay foundation meant trying out a new high street offering, after looking around Superdrug I picked up 2, Collections foundation ( Which I realized I picked up in the wrong colour, damn it) and the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation in Vanille Clair.

The Bourjois Serum has been quite agreeable, it's the right colour for a start, you think at 20 I'd know my own skin tone properly. Anyway, it also is a nice consistence and goes onto my skin smoothly. It doesn't feel too heavy and lasts a relatively long time before my grim oily combination skin starts to poke through.

I'd seen the healthy mix serum floating around the blogging world for a while and heard nothing but good from it but I'm a poor student and I like to take minimal risks when it comes to purchasing base products, because it's unlikely I'll be able to purchase more for a decent time after, the only reason I bt the bullet this time was the feeling of being on holiday and having a decent amount of birthday money of me meant I felt a little more willing to spend, and boy I'm glad I was, this doesn't feel quite as great and covering as the urban decay offering but it'll be a good in between till I get my hands on that little gem.

Have you made any slightly on impulse beauty purchases recently?

Rediscovering Lipsticks

So hi...

As a blogger and fan of reading many blogs I've read a few posts about 'Shopping your stash' but I never really thought I'd ever amass enough make-up to do that myself but ALAS, I have definitely collected enough lipsticks.
Recently I've been using the same make-up products because a lot of my things have already been moved over to my new place that I'll be moving to in a few weeks, but I completely forgot that I left a whole bag full of other make-up stuff so I could swap around, and I rediscovered my Topshop Headrush lipstick, a lovely mix of red and orange. As such I've been pretty addicted to it the last week or so, the quality of the Topshop lipsticks is another thing I'd forgotten, and it really made me realize the difference in the more expensive products.
As much as I love my £1 lipsticks from the likes of MUA and makeup revolution, they are of lower quality, though I definitely think they are amazing for the price, you can really feel the difference when you apply the products.
The Rediscovery of this actually quite new purchase made me think that I should make more of an effort to 'shop my stash' as I have a decent collection yet I always seem to reach for the classic Rimmel Kate moss 107, which as much as I find it a godsend, I have about 20+ other lipsticks of different colours and textures.

When was the last time you discovered a new favourite from your own collection?

Current Summer FOTD

So Hi...

In Summer I feel like most people change up their make up a little bit, with the heat it's often not ideal to have a full face of make-up that feels like it could melt off your face at any moment, so not attractive. I'm no exception to this, although the changes I've made to my daily make-up are a mixture of the change in weather and a gain of products. Though tweaks still need to be made I'm becoming more and more content with my make-up application and skills. Anyway I thought I would just list the product's I'm using for my day to day Summer make-up with some selfies showing it off at the end!
Lets start with the base, I use the Make-up Revolution ultra all day primer balm first along with the Make-up Revolution eye primer to help keep my make-up on, which is especially needed in the added heat. Concealer of choice at the moment is the MUA hide and conceal stick. I'm out of collections lasting perfection concealer and have yet to find it restocked and not open in my shade, the struggles.  I unfortunately don't have a full bottle of foundation as I've been using a tester bottle of Urban Decay's Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Makeup in 0.5 as picked for me at the urban decay event I went to a while back ( Read Here!) I'm absolutely loving it and definitely going to look into getting myself a full bottle. I'm also getting into Bronzer a little now and use the MUA Bronzer in shade 1. And Powder is the forever faithful Rimmel stay matte.
Now for Eyes. I've recently been quite loyal to this Go! palette from Make-up Revolution for my eye shadow, I love the pink toned colours and the range which means I can go super pale and neutral one day and smokey dark another. The curlers are standard own branded ones from Superdrug as I've never really used curlers and wanted to test them out. For eye liner my top favourite is the Collection extreme 24 hour felt tip liner, it's easy to control and gives such good colour pigment off. I own about 4 of these in different colours now. for mascara I don't really have one that I specifically use daily, I have about 4/5 I tend to swap between. At the moment though I'm been loving Soap & glory Thick and Fast, it does what it says and really thickens the lashes. In terms of pencils again I'm not really too fussy and have a number of pencils from different brands, I've recently bought this gorgeous green eye pencil from MUA however and it's a lovely colour that adds a pop and I feel really brings out the green tones in my eyes.

That just about sums up my summer FOTD, the lip colours change daily depending on my mood or the event so I didn't include those.
What's your Summer FOTD Products? any particular look your loving?

A week or so of outfits 3#

So hi...

Been a while since I put out one of these hasn't it? kinda been forgetting to photograph outfits, just due to exam and revision and all that malarkey, as such there's a little less than previous ones but enjoy.

Definitely liking my outfit choices a lot more recently, The end of summer has really seen myself stop caring about others opinions and starting to buy and wear things I really like just for myself and own sense of style. And I like it.

Make-up Revolution Haul Part 3

So hi..

Last part of my Make-up revolution haul today! I ordered a lot of stuff didn't I... The total was about £40? but I just couldn't help myself. Today's part is showing off the little Spring collection pack I bought which was half price at £10 and came with a load of different products. I missed spring a little bit to wear it but I'll definitely be using all these in Summer, especially with the Spring like weather we've been having in England recently

The first product in the collection are the Vivid Blush lacquer in 'heat'. This will be super interesting to try out as I'm usually a powder blush kinda girl, I've not had much practice or trials with creme blush let alone a lacquer, I think I'll be very very carefully when trying to apply this. Another interesting product is this kohl crayon. The packaging of this is so strange and intriguing, I think i'll like using this for messy smudgy liner and under the eyes.
Next was this eye primer, which I actually over-looked when I ordered. So when I actually seen it I was pleasantly surprised. It's made to (Obviously) Prime the eyes but it also says that it's usable on it's own as it as a faint colour pigment. Though this does made me wonder whether this pigment could effect the colours and look of shadows put on top of this primer, but we'll see.
A mascara also came in the set which is good as I have been wanting to up the amount of mascaras in my collection so I can experiment a little more. This one has a plastic brush which is says allows for longer nicer looking lashes. It's nice and simple looking and the brush it quite standard, I have yet to try it out but soon!
I also Got this Go! Palette which is the description on the site, claimed to be for contours, But on the back it shows to have both contour elements (blush, highlight, bronzer) as well as some Eye-shadows at the bottom. These all looks quite nice in colour and I think I can actually use them for my skin tone which  is always a bonus.
Now here is the eye shadows, The style of the Go to hell Palette is very cool looking and it has a lot of options for looks, They are all quite dark and I imagine more for night out looks but I'm looking forward to creating dark and smokey eyes with this.
And The Last Product in the Spring collection is the I heart make up wonder palette. It has a few more brighter colours than the Go to hell palette but definitely see this for summer, it feel like I could really get creative with some bright and summery looks with this palette. It has some nice browns ans neutral colours as well which is nice

And We've done it! Reached the end of my whole Haul from Make-up Revolution, all three posts worth. I'm already testingq and trying out a lot of these products and no complaints so far, I'll definitely be doing some looks using only make up revolution products since ive gone and bought so much now.
Have you made any beauty Purchases recently? Any recommendations?

Topshop Lips

So hi...

Topshop Make up has always been something I've adored from afar but never couldn't the plunge and actually gone and bought. I'd always see the gorgeous looking packages and good reviews of the make-up range from other bloggers but couldn't justify the prices. £8 for a lipstick when there are £1 alternatives? Madness for a stingy student like me. However while wondering after my flatmates as they showed about topshop, I stood in front of the lipsticks, allowing myself a few innocent swatches. then before I knew it I had picked up two shades and they were already paid for. I just couldn't help myself and thought I would invest in a little better quality make up for once! And well, here we are!

The First shade that spark my interest was a bright orangey toned red shade called 'head rush' I surprisingly don't owe a orange toned red and just immediately liked the colour as soon as I swatched it. this love was reinforced once I decided to wear in out that night. Such a stunning bold colour that I think suits me rather well!

The other shade I picked up was called ' Brighton Rock' and is a super bright true pink. I chose this as I feel like I don't usually get along with lipsticks, I always find fault in them but I really actually like this colour, it feel like the perfect pink to me and I'm looking forward to wearing it on bright summer days when I'm feeling extra bold.
I'm thinking of maybe treating myself to a good nail varnish next time I find myself in topshop. that polka dot packaging is just too cute.

The Whole Make-up collection: Nails.

So hi...

LAst post of my whole make-up collection series today and it's a biggie! Talking nails today and I have a fair few of nail polishes, because of this I'll be listing the shades from each brand! You may also notice I have a lot of greens blues reds and purples for nails, i don't mean to I don't tend up picking those shades and colours up..
First I'll get the nail remover out the way, just two of these. First is the superdrug's own brand nail polish which I use with cotton pads, nice and simple. Second is for the laziest of the lazy! From primark's beauty range is the very convenient twist pot. It's so easy, out your finger in and twist, you do have to have for finger in there a while but still the easiest option for now.

Anyhow Let's get on with the actual nail polishes now, starting with the brand I own the most of, which unsurprisingly is MUA, £1 nail polish just can't be laughed at, it last about 4-5 days with 2-3 coats and no base or top coat so can probably last at least a week if you went the whole way with base and top coat.
MUA, Left to Right:
Fever Red
Sweet Peach
Lush Lilac
Plum Noir
Pitch Black
Pistachio Ice Cream
Strawberry Crush
Mud Pie
Koala Bear
Moody Mink
Leapfrog
All Nude
Bright Coral
Bold Blue
Ultramarine
And lastly from MUA is the super strength polish base coat.

The next brand Is PS beauty from Primark, I have a lot of these as they do little mini sets of 4 polishes for £1, that 25p per nail varnish.

Unfornunately the primark polishes don't have shade names of their packaging but I own a blue set of 4 and a red set. I also own two of their single pots which are £1 each, one is a gorgeous sky blue colour and the other is a gorgeous sparkly purply tinted burgundy colour.
I have one more nail varnish from Primark which came from a nail set with this polish and glitter, I wasn't fond of the glitter though so I like to wear this lilac grey colour on it's own, very minimal and pretty.

Those two are my biggest collection, after these it's just very random polishes I've picked up or gotten as a present.
Miss Sporty.
Miss Sporty also don't have shades on their bottles but I have a clear polishes a perfect green turquoise colour and a very bright bold blue colour.
Next I own three shades from Matalan which I'm pretty sure I got from my mother as she's the only person in my family that shops there! these were in a set as a Christmas present I'm pretty sure, You might be able to guess but they also do not name separate names to their shades. So I have a pretty golden colour, a dark shimmery red and a very strange muddy brown/ nude colour which is pretty nice on the nails.

So now we're on to the singles, I have one from Technics which is a super dark blue colour.
And Lastly is a nail polish from colourworks, which I don't actually know where I've gotten it from, but it's an orangey pink colour.

And so this mini series comes to a end. Did you enjoy seeing all my beauty products?
