Beauty Mini Haul

So hi...

So you may or may not know (you probably should know) but I am a student! and as such the third term of student finance has just hit student bank accounts everywhere! It's a glorious time for us depraved lot to give ourselves a little pick me up of spending! Now I'm quite sensible with my student finance and know what I can and can't spend! so today is only a mini haul but still a haul. I went into superdrug last week and treated myself to a few new bits!

Firstly I picked up three new items from Make-up revolution. I decided to try their focus and fix concealer as mine is currently running low and collection's lasting perfection was nowhere to be seen. Next was yet another lipstick as I'm obsessed and you just can't go wrong with a £1 lipstick. It's a bright purple/pink colour and it's fab. Lastly I treated myself to a new eye shadow palette, I picked up the 'Girls on Film' palette as I loved the mix of smokey dark colours it has in it as I feel it's really my jam.

Next I went to my good old MUA, I actually got three items from here as well but like an amateur didn't photograph the bronzer I picked up as I was too excited in using it. But yeah I got that. As well as that I picked up yet another nil polish (as if I didn't have enough) in the shade 'ultramarine'. IT's a beautiful mixture of blue and purple and I already have it on my nails. Last is another concealer product, the hide and conceal concealer stick in fair, just as a product to try out because why not?
It was 3 for 2 in Superdrug so I got £2 off my whole purchase as a few items were only £1 each, but as well as that I gor this #makeup Bag free aswell! well impressed, I'm thinking to use it for my daily make-up choices and use another of my bags to collect favourites and products to review/rave about since I'm thinking of doing more of those!
Bought any new make-up bits and bobs recently? let me know down in the comments below!

The Whole Make-up Collection: Base Products.

So hi....

Going to talk about the base products today, probably the smallest collection I have. These are my foundations blush/bronzer and all that shizz.

Let's first talk foundation. I don't use foundation all that often, I'm a lazy concealer and powder only kinda girl. But I do own three foundations.
First is the Rimmel Wake me up foundation in Ivory, I love this foundation but it's ( if you couldn't tell) a little bit too dark, i love the coverage and everything else on it but when i bought it I just picked up the lightest shade there and that it still too dark I can mix it with the match perfection foundation however for a more well matched colour.
Speaking of the second foundation I own is the Rimmel match perfection foundation in light Porcelain, this foundation is kinda runny and a little too light for my skin, which makes it a good mix with the wake me up colour.
Lastly is the Foundation I'm currently using which is the Maybelline Super stay better skin foundation in Ivory. This has a decent coverage and is the best colour match so it's what I'll currently make the effort to use.
Next I'll cover all the other bits since I currently only have one of each. For concealer I have the Rimmel wake me up concealer.
I also had the collection lasting perfection concealer however it's run out and I have yet to find a store that has the fair shade that hasn't been used to replace it. The wake me up one does a pretty good job however so it'll d for now.
For powder I'm pretty loyal to Rimmel's Stay matte powder, it does the job well and I couldn't really ask for much else.
I also have the MUA Pro-base Primer, thought it's nearly run out and in all honesty, I didn't feel that it made much difference. I am on the look out for some good primers however so any suggestions down in the comment section would be appreciated.
Last but not least is the Two faced no make-up make up palette, which holds my highlight, blush and bronzer all in one, I love this little palette as its extremely useful and easy!

And we're already done... I told you it was a small collection. I am on the look out to expand it greatly but I feel like with base products it's very important to get it right and not waste money because you picked the wrong shade or something.

The Whole Make-up Collection: Eye-shadows

So Hi...

Part 2 of my whole make-up collection mini-series and this week I'm bringing you eye-shadows! I quite like my eye shadows, Palettes to pretty up a look are my thaang. I don't have too many though as I'm so indecisive when I look at eye-shadows and end up worrying and buying nothing, it's strange I know.

So First These 4 palettes are the ones that sit on top of my sink area in plain sight as they are the every day palettes I grab for. I feel like most beauty bloggers recognize the back two. The ever famous naked palettes. I own the naked palette 2 and 3, One day I'll own the 1st palette as well. The front right palette is from Ps. beauty and is probably the least used, It's lovely and has more grey neutral colours compared to the naked palettes. And lastly on the front left is my Sleek I-divine Storm palette. This one is super pigmented and most the colours are sparkly, I use this palette for nights out most and it's sparkly and bright colours.
now are the palettes, trios and singles that sit in my little box along with the everyday palettes boxes, I don't like to throw them out.
First up is the remaining palletes. The Blue toned top left one is unbranded and bought for me so I can't actually tell you much about  it but I used to use it a lot for a super smokey eye with a blue tint. The huge Palette is from BC and is great for theme parties and a bright coloured eyes as it has so many shades. The top left is From Make-up Revolution and as you can see it super bright. It's not as bright in swatches but still scary looking, you can probably guess I used this rarely but like to experiment and test my boundaries with it. And lastly is this little quad from No.7 I really like this palette and it makes a gorgeous sophisticated brown smokey eye that makes me feel very adult and sensual.
And here's the Trios and single eye-shadows. The small trios are once again an unbranded product that my mum bought for me so I have no idea where she got them from. I like them but they are all rather odd colours, or is that just me. I'm sure you can read but the other three are all from MUA, The pinky toned palette is gorgeous for a light cute look with natural looking make-up. The other two shades of green I bought this the Poison Ivy make-up look I've done before (read here)

That's all folks! I did say I didn't have a super big collection, I'm sure some beauty bloggers could go on for days about their collections but maybe one day I'll reach that peak.

The Whole Make-up collection. Lips.

So hi...

Recently I've been thinking about doing a short series showing off a different section of my whole make-up collection and well... here we are. I thought i would start off with lips as it's probably what I have the most of. My collection isn't really that big, hoping to expand it a lot more and test out a load of new products, especially base products. Anyway to the lips collection

As you can see I have 2 storage thingys for my lip products, my favourites get displayed in this stand I bought of ebay ages ago and it has 24 slots, All the others that didn't quite make the cut go into a make-up bag that sits under my sink in my room, I still use these one but they aren't the ones i want to grab on a daily basis.
So here comes the fun bit, I'm going to list out each lip product starting from the back row left to right.
Back Row:
PS beauty Lip crayon in nude// Tanya /Burr 'Vampire kiss'// Apocolips 'Meteoric matte' //
Apocolips 'Across the universe'// MUA Luxe  'Funk'// Rimmel Lipstick Lock.
3rd Row:
MUA Matte 'Peachy keen'// MUA Matte 'Scarlet Siren'// MUA Matte 'Wild Berry'//
Makeup Revolution '100% Vamp'//Ps Beauty in Red// Nivea pearly shine.
2nd Row:
MUA 'Shade 11'// Rimmel Moisture Renew 'As You Want Victoria'//BC 'Poison'// MUA 'Shade 3'//
Essence 10 'Cotton candy'// Maybelline 'Hazelnut Sauce'.
Front Row:
Rimmel Kate Moss '107'// Rimmel Moisture Renew 'Dark Night Waterl-oops!'//
Collection 'Vintage Rose'// MUA 'Shade 13'// MUA 'Shade 1'// Miss Sporty '051 Bubble Gum'

Phew that was a lot, these are my favourite shades. I seem do like MUA and Rimmel a lot.

Next are the few things in my lipstick bag. First in these pockets are two Ps. Beauty Crayons in Red. In the middle in a S&G Extreme-Plump lipgloss. and in the final pockets are two MUA lip liners in 'Red Drama' and 'Brooding plum'
next are the odd lip sticks and such. For ease I'm going to list these out.
MUA 'Shade 6'// BC 'Vixen'//  MUA 'Shade 4'//
Makeup Revolution Scandalous collection.
'Felony'// 'Crime'// 'Immoral'// 'Vice'// 'Depraved'
And finally the more pen looking products and a backup of Kate Moss '107' cause it's my fav.
One more little list. From the top.
Nars lip pencil 'Majella'// Apocolips 'Galaxy'// Maybelline 'Crimson Crystal'// Apocolips 'Luna'.

And thats it, as I said for someone who blogs about this stuff my Collection isn't all that big!
Next friday I'll be showing off my eye-shadows, palette's and all.
How big is your lip product collection? What's your favourites?

The Recent Buys.

So hi...

The winter season added with the money supply that is student finance meant that I've been able to buy a few things for myself in the last few months. Now I haven't bought much and made sure nothing was too expensive so I didn't break the bank!

Since It's getting mighty cold now, with it turning winter and all. So Buying a nice wooly hat was in order, I found this one in sports direct while looking for football gear and decided it would be perfect, I have beanie hats already but this one is just much more cosy and winter appropriate looking. If my memory serves me right it was about £6-7
Next of the thing I've bought is bags, two of them to be exact. The gorgeous burgundy red clutch was £6 from primark and It's just such a pretty bag that actually fits a decent amount in despite it's size, I didn't need this really I just wanted it...
The other monochrome bag was £15 and I ordered it online from New look. I bought it originally as a replacement bag for the monochrome bag I had from primark that broke the first week of uni, but I was a little disappointed. Don't get me wrong I do quite like the bag, but I expected it to be a little bigger than it is, it's a struggle as a uni bag which was it's purpose, so although I may have to buy a bigger bag it is lovely and I will still keep using it.
Onto the beauty related purchases.
On a unnecessary but at the same time SO necessary visit to superdrug I took advantage of the 3 for 2 offer and got myself some more nail varnish, One clear coat polish that can be used for a base and a top coat which is convenient. I then picked up a black nail polish called 'Pitch black' which I don't really need to explain shade wise... I just wanted to have a black nail polish, it felt needed. The last nail polish is a very cute light lilac colour called ' lush lilac' the inner girly girl in me had to owe this, it looks so cute and I like the idea of wearing it in winter.

I also picked up 2 Apocolips up, One I ordered online for £3-4 which is a bargin and it's in the shade 500 'Luna' It's a very peachy shade and although I don't think i work it as well as I'd like I still love the colour. I'll make it work somehow. The other Apocolips I picked up was in boots and from the new Matte range. IT's an absolutely beautiful berry picky shade called 'Meteoric Matte' and I straight up love it. This will most likely be my go to winter lip.

And those are my buys from the past month or so, not too bad I'd say. I'm budgeting myself well And I've already got most of my Christmas presents for people bought. On a Roll.

We'll talk soon lovelies!

The Make-up Left Behind

So hi...

Although I don't have a huge collection of make-up it has built up a little bit, and I've realized that in this slow collecting process a few make-up bits have been abandoned and become the make-up that time forgot. A lot of these I put in a little bag which I left at my best friends in an aim to use it when I stayed at his but it's still quite neglected, so I thought I'd so you the bits forgotten.

Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation
I feel quite bad when I actually opened this as It's nearly a whole tub and I had gone through a tub of the stuff in my early teens(think 14) I honestly don't remember what this was like, i did apply it with a rather awful brush so I can't imagine it looked that great, But once I discovered liquid foundation this quick got put into the back of the pile and there it has stayed Maybe I should give it another try one day and let you guys know my thoughts?

MUA Creme Blusher in Lush
I bought this for the price, I wanted to experiment a little more with blusher, but I found this annoying to work this, maybe because of the flat pan size, but I didn't give it much on a chance, Powder blushers have much more become my thang, my oily skin meant I just because deal with the feeling of creme blush, but maybe it's another one to revisit.

Rimmel Match perfection Coconcealer
This was an emergency purchase my dad was kind enough to buy me in tesco as I had run out completely of concealer and hadn't yet been paid. Honestly it wasn't all that great, I used it because I had to but the brush was annoying and seemed an unclean applicator, it was just very very average, and I stopped using it as soon as I bought a replacement.

Rimmel Scandaleyes Mascara
I got this product of my mum who bought it thinking it was waterproof but then found out it really wasn't. There isn't too much wrong with this mascara, It's just I have ones I much prefer, The brush is rater large making it a lot harder to work with and I find in turn can easily make your lashes look pretty clumpy. Just not my cuppa tea really, so abandoned it was.

Primark Liquid liner
I've written about this before here. so won't go on about this too much but again it just wasn't that great though I didn't expect much, it's flakes where my other liquid eyeliners don't, simple.

Barbra Daily Brown eye liner.
This is another product that has nothing wrong with it, I was given it by my dad and have used it a few times but there just isn't many times where I feel the need for brown eyeliner rather than black and so this doesn't really get used that often, but as a product it's good, it does the job well and I'll probably still have the rare occasion where I'll use it.

Rimmel Extra wow Lash.
Once again this product was abandoned for no real reason, It's a decent enough process I suppose, I have no real hate or dislike for the product, it's just not really outstanding and doesn't make my lashes look that great, not as well as miss manga does or S&G Super thick mascara so it just didn't get used and got put in the abandoned bag.

And that's all of them, the poor products, most of which did no wrong, that not put away and forgotten about until now, but maybe I'll give them all a second chance and see if I can get along with them a little better...

Make-up Experiments: Poison Ivy

So Hi..

So I've been trying to be a lot more experimental with make-up and I've wanted to try to do a lot of different looks in terms of casual wear and for idea's as cosplays etc.

Saying that this is one successful look I'm quite happy with.  It's a poison ivy look which isn't unusual with me and I absolutely love it. I'm quite happy with how this came out and I am quite looking forward to trying out other looks. My base was just concealer and the lipstick was the Rimmel kate moss 107.
I used a sleek palette, 2 MUA single shadows and a large unbranded palette set.

I hope you guys like this look as much as I do, I think I'll definitely be wearing this when Halloween comes around while in Uni.

Any suggestions for make-up looks to try?

A New Everyday Make-up Routine.

So hi.

Recently I've found that my make-up routine has changed a lot and I find my make-up looking a lot smoother and more flawless as a result, so I thought I would tell you all my make-up routine, I don't think it's anything special. More so that I've gotten much better with my ability to blend and generally apply my make-up, which makes me rather happy.

I think two things have greatly contributed to my improved make-up routine, discovering the usefulness of a primer and decent make-up brushes.

The make up brushes I use are unbranded ones I order for only a couple of quid from Tmart, they are soft and fluffy and do the job well, they are also in need of cleaning I know.

For my primer I use MUA's Primer, It was £4 and my first choice in experimenting with primers as I didn't want to spend to much then possibly not like it, I'm looking forward to trying some other primers though.

After priming I use my concealer, which although has been collections lasting perfection offering for a while, after struggling to get another from my local Superdrug, I gave Rimmel's wake me up concealer and I really like it, I'd be so bold as to say I think it's just as good as collection's one.

Next is foundation and recently I haven't been using foundation too much because of the hot weather but when I do it's the Super stay better skin foundation from Maybelline, I think it really goes on well on my skin and I love the finish it gives me. It's the best foundation I've tried so far. I then contour my face with the Two-faced No makeup palette, I absolutely love this product, I bought it off Tmart like I did with the brushes and it wasn't listed as a brand product but when it arrived I was excited, It has the a contour, highlight, cream and powder blush and a shimmer bronzer. and with my face all done and looking the best I could hope I use Rimmel Stay matte powder to set it all and give my face a matte effect.

Next up I do my eyes, if I can be bothered with eye shadow, I get out the Naked 3 Palette, my favourite colours are burnout, limit, liar and mugshot. After is the cat flick which I use either Superliner by Loreal or Collection's Extreme 24 hour liner, followed by mascara, I use two mascaras, firstly Collection's no clumps which gives me good length to build up on and then I use Miss Manga by Loreal.

And that's my make up done, there's also lipstick but I change it up so often, but as I would say I'd mostly use a shade of red, I photopraphed Apocolips in Big bang and the Rimmel Kate moss in  01.

What's your make-up routine like?

Late May Favourites!

So hi...

May seemed to have gone ridiculously quick which I partially blame this on the stress induced from exams. 6 exams down and 3 to go may has been busy. Revision and exams are also why I'm posting this a few days late, forgive me!
Any way lets get down to it!

This month was probably one of my busiest so far, I hadn't planned it to be but you know when plans just seem to pop up all of the place and stuff just gets done? that was me this month. Full of sociable outings in both the day and night and much stressing over revision, I also got productive with the blog, but that's for another post. I got to love a load of products and random non beauty things this month too, but beauty first.

 Garnier Micellar Cleansing water.
Sometime in April I picked this up hearing nothing but good things, now when it comes to make-up removal... I am mighty lazy, I always get it off just probably not as well as I should, I tend to crash after about 9pm and all my energy just disappears so this product, claiming easy make-up removal sounded perfect. AND I can say after a month of use it's amazing, it makes my skin feel lovely and refreshed and removes all my make-up with ease and without hassle, Beautiful.

Superdrug's own brand Restoring Skin Care Oil.
This is a little bit of a sensitive topic for me but I was in hospital and had operation to remove cysts when i was 13 and again last year, the first operation left awful scars and stitches that were done rather sloppy, This means my stomach doesnt look too pretty, the second time round they attempted to fix the previous scars but there is only so much that can be done. So now I am left with 6 operation scars covering my stomach and it's rather un-nerving, so i thought i would try this product just to help, and I felt like it has a lot, as I said they will be there all my life but they are less noticeable now, which is great.

Lush Bubble Gum lip scrub.
I absolutely adore this product, it smells amazing, feels amazing on my lips and once it's done its job and i'm happy, I can just lick the rest on it off my lips, how great??? I also feel like this will last me ages as a little goes a long way, I wanted this product for a good few months before I finally caved and got it but i'm so glad I did.

The Body Shop Strawberry body butter.
I'm sad to say I've run out of this product. I got it in a gift set full of a variety of strawberry scented goodies and immediately fell in love, It soaked into my skin quickly so i didn't have to awkward stand around and it lightly fragrance my body to smell of strawberries, And wo doesn't love strawberries eh??
Naked 2 Palette.
Now I'll admit straight away, this is not the real deal, I don't think as I bought it from T-mart.com for under £10! Definitely not the price tag naked is known for, It also didn't say it was the naked palette but after comparing it with swatches and seeing another blogger buy this product I thought why not. Now I can't compare it to the real naked palette as I don't own it but I have thoroughly loved this product, The pigment of the eye shadows are good and  the brush you get with it is great and soft to use as well! So worth it.

Two Faced- No Makeup Makeup.
This was another purchase from T-mart.com, however when I put this in my basket i didn't realise it would come as a two-faced product and was pleasantly surprised, I think with T-mart although there are no brand names on the site a lot of the products are if you search, that's my guess anyway. Back to the product, I bought this as a all in one palette to experiment with contour blush highlights and bronzer as I steered away from bronzer because of my paleness and had fell out of love with my cream blusher. I know absolutely adore this product, It's amazing for really polishing of my make-up look and giving it a much more natural product, I'm really interested in trying more two-faced products now as this one was just amazing.

MUA Nail Polish in Sweet peach.
There isn't much explaining for this product, I just think it's a great colour for your nails in summer, it's a lovely and bright peachy coral colour and at only £1, What's not to love?

MUA pro-base Primer
Another product I bought to try out as I always stuggle with making my make-up(mostly the base) Last for a full day and so I thought I would try a primer, and not wanting to spend loads on a product I may not like I went for MUA's primer which cost only £4. I am now converted to the magic of a primer, I feel that it makes my make-up last longer and look more flawless, I'm interested to try other primers as well, Any suggestions?

Collection Lipstick in Vintage Rose.
This lipstick has been in my bag pretty much all month, It's just a perfect 'your lips but better' colour for me as my natural lip colour is pinky, So this lipstick just brings that out. It's great whenever I'm feeling lazy or want to look nice but proper out there with a red lip, Or if I want more focus on my eyes this colour is good. Really It's just an all round good'un.

That's all the beauty related favourites, now for the more random favourites of this month.

Dark Souls.
Now this is my inner gamer coming out here but I love this game. so many of my friends hate it because it's known for it's difficulty and even says on the case  'prepare to die' but i love the challenge. I love long open games that have a lot of detail in the story and provide a lot of challenge, I'm a bit of a perfectionist and refuse to leave the game unfinished! it's a great game, I'm also looking forward to playing dark souls 2.

Phone case.
This is probably the most random but I bought this online to protect the new phone I bought about 2 months ago and now I couldn't be without it, It has two pockets on the inside that I put my college card and bus tickets in which is super useful. and Obviously it does the great job of protecting my phone!

Young Guns.
Music wise I've been really enjoying young guns, their album bones in particular. My favourite songs are 'Bones' and 'I was born, I have lived, I will surely die' I high recommend them for people to give a listen to

Sweet Potato.
I have seriously been liking Sweet potato this month, especially as chips, they are healthier and just tastes so nice! It's also nice as mash. I've been on a little healthy eating thing

Collective haul! Primark, Select, Superdrug, Etc..

So hi...

I may have been doing a few bits of shopping over the last few weeks, when I had my operation and was house bound for a week I took it as an opportunity to order a few bits online, so i could have some happiness in the form of parcels at my door! As well as that I have been in to town a lot over the Easter holidays and picked up a number of bits and bobs which I thought would be nice to show all together in a collective haul of all the things I've got!

So For Easter I got a £20 mall voucher from my dad as he doesn't buy me and my sisters chocolate, So I went to primark to pick up a few home bits for my self, the thought of Uni and my own place has recently made my interest in homey bits increase dramatically!

While In primark I picked up a few candles, recommended by my candle obsessed mother who swore to me that despite the price they were actually scented when you burnt them. And they actually do, I preferred the small pots at £1 each as you can probably tell from the photo, but the bigger vanilla and coconut candle at £2 was very nice also. I've made a mental note to collect a few more of these soon.
I also picked up some face clothes as I was lacking in them and primark was having a home sale event so they were only £1.50! nice.
On a separate trip I also picked up the much talked about, Garnier micellar cleansing water with some accompanying pads and oh my.
This bottle has changed my make-up removing laziness and I like to use it to cleanse my skin after using my Soap and glory peaches and clean as the micellar water leaves my skin feeling fantastic, so glad I followed the raves about this product!
This was a large group picture I took to show all the other its and bobs I've bought, Mostly through Easter presents and payday.
On the beauty side of things I picked up a few primark nails, after being slightly disappointed with some a while back I decided to try again after hearing lily melrose praise them, I picked up an adorable strawberry set and a cute daisy set.
Making a visit to superdrug, which I possibly do way too often (opps) I was on the hunt for a nice smelling body butter, After using up the small tub of strawberry body butter from the body shop, I just knew I could find another nice smelling cheap one and oh boy I did. This cherry and macadamia body butter smells divine and cost only £2! brilliant.
Also on the hunter for a face primer which I have been needed for a while I picked up MUA's offering at only £3 Why not. I had previously wanted to try the maybelline baby skin pore eraser but could not justify the spending at all!
Lastly I went to lush, uncertain of whether i wanted to buy anything. I've wanted the bubblegum scrub for a long while now but as lush is pretty expensive, I never really had the spare money, however after a little chat with one of the ladies who always seems to serve me the few times i do go there I took the plunge and went for it. I'm happy I did, before using this my lips that been in awful condition and it was really bothering me, now they feel soft and lovely. (plus it tastes amazing...)
Also in the photo at the top of the post you may have noticed a lip product, after much debate I picked up a Tanya burr lip gloss in the colour 'Vampire kiss' but I'll be posting about that shortly
On the fashion side of things, I may admit I am addicted to shirts and collars, my wardrobe is slowly being overtaken by them, But maybe that collection is a post for another time. The peachy shirt with the gorgeous black trim was a present from my mum, I do know she picked it up from select however, as I had been eyeing it up myself already.
I myself picked up the other two items, with the mint green cami top at £6 from select, I got it as I feel my wardrobe is really lacking in layering items and I could do with a few simple basics added to it. The other top is a black shirt that is slightly cropped with an adorable peter pan collar, the material of this one is also a bit usual for a shirt, more stretchy but still very very comfy.
This was a pretty simple purchase, I needed some more shoes and you can't go wrong with black plimsolls from primark, especially considering how cheap they are, as well as actually sturdy.
This is a better picture of the things I got for Easter, the striped clothing item you see is a long sleeved dress, However in my eagerness to wear it I didn't get a better picture and it seems to have disappeared in the wash! darn. it was around £5 from primark ( yet again)
Last but not least I got a new bag! this gorgeous browny-tan coloured satchel was only £9 from primark! can you believe it? £9! It's also very sturdy. Not at all thin of flimsy feeling like some bags you can find it primark, I've been using it for my college bag and it fits all my books in no problem. A bit more boringly I got some leggings as well as mine often seem to disappear in this house...

And that's all folks! quite a lot of stuff but I am rather happy with it all, I won't be able to do much more shopping anytime soon as large as what i've got here but It was nice to feel quite spoiled and do a lot of retail therapy

We'll talk soon lovelies!
