And We're off to the Races. #ColourMeMarch

So hi...

Bit of an out of the usual schedule post today, aren't you guys lucky. and anyone noticed the title? It made me think of Lana Del Ray's song 'Off to the races' very post appropriate.

Anyway I was recently asked to take part in the #ColourMeMarch Campaign as apart of the Cheltenham Races Ladies day this Wednesday!
You may have guessed from the colour part but it's an event that celebrates colour and style, though of course you would still want to look classy and appropriate for the races. It's a very fancy and gorgeous event with classy style all over the place, which seemed much more fashionable than little ol' me is capable of... however I was asked to create a colourful but appropriate look which would be wearable to the races. So I thought I better get my fashion on and see what I could do.

Now colour is now something I wear often, not due to me disliking colour but I'm one of those people that worry often about wearing things too colourful, I mean black looks slim, and boy do I need slim. But when thinking about this I thought about my wardrobe and worked out a few outfits.
As I'm indecisive I decided to show off 2-3 different outfits.

The first outfit choice was created by the idea that one colour my wardrobe is full of is red. I'm often told red is one colour that suits me and as such often get bought it, red shoes red lipstick red clothes, I have it all. so why not mash it together into a redtastic outfit one come wear watching the races?

I chose my staple piece of my bright red skirt and old faithful prom shoes ( red stilettos, I was a brave child apparently) and went from there. I decided on a plain black ( hear me out) vest top and then a navy and cream block shirt over the top unbuttoned and tucked in along with the vest top. This was because I'm a comfort kinda girl, I like to look good and feel comfortable, with this in mind I always find keeping my shirts buttoned up distracts me for the whole day, are the buttons all come up correctly does it sit right etc etc. I always thought to layer and use the shirt almost like a jacket, rather than cover the colourful red skirt up in my tie up black coat.

However if necessary I thought to add a scarf, recently bought from Paris to the coat in order to keep the colour there and keep myself warm also, This is also a cover up I would be able to do few all the outfits I've chosen. And That's outfit number one for you. Do you think I look good enough for the Races? I think I'm not too shabby!

The second outfit choice is probably my favourite. The center piece and you may have guessed is this gorgeous mint green midi skirt which was only a few pound from Primark, I love the floral patterns on it. I paired with the trusty black vest top and my Select floral kimono and a gold and cream flower statement necklace from ebay. Bag-wise I went for yet another satchel, ( what can I say to me they spell bag class) this one is a gorgeous big black satchel with a cute colourful tartan print of the front, just to add that extra oomph of colour. Overall I love how adult and classy the midi skirt looks and with some chunky boots and high pony tail I felt I brought a little bit of my style to the races.

The Third and Final outfit is for the hopeful ones wishing of sun. Sunnys and all this was the outfit I would chose if I was super hopeful for the Sun's graceful appearance while at the races. this pretty little number is a playsuit I picked up from clothesminded.co.uk and while it's base colour is black it's pattern brings out subtle colour. I wore some pointed heels with a frill trim at the front and a simple monochrome shoulder bag from new look, I also wore cat eye sunglasses in preparation!

And those are my #ColourMeMarch outfit choices for the Cheltenham Races Ladies day. Not the fanciest outfits and I have no big hats to wear on my head but with what I have as a student but I am happy with these outfits.

What sort of colourful outfits would you wear to the Races?

So hi,

So I got this dress rather recently (See my haul here.) And I absolutely adore it, I have been looking for a cute daisy print dress for a month or so now after seeing so many online that were always too expensive or not in my size etc. but I spotted this beauty in Select (my baby.) and snapped it up very quickly, It's a simple outfit and could definitely be worn as a part of a day or night outfit.

Payday haul!

So hi...
The end of may gave me a rather decent payday due to lots of events and Luton down going up in the league and being busy. This meant I finally had a chance to pick myself up some summer clothes, which I have been desperate for! especially for some new dresses, I managed to pick up quite a few bits and the day itself was lovely as after shopping me and Ross went to see the new X-Men film and had a lovely carvery afterwards, it was great. Anyway back onto the bits I picked up!

So firstly thought I would go through the bottoms I got, the three shorts are all from primark, with the mint green and purple shorts priced at £5 which is pretty good as they fit comfortably and look nice.
The striped pair were slightly higher at £7 but still very worth it, they are also slightly longer than the others, which are almost like short shorts, which some people may not feel comfortable with.
The jeggings I collected from Select, I'm wholly converted to jeggings, I hardly wear jeans and jeggings are just the perfect bottom for me, these ones were about £12 and has lovely lace detailing on the pockets.
When I headed out for my day of shopping I made an little objective to buy at least two dresses and i'm proud to say that objective was met! The Aztec dress was from Primark at a bargain of £5, it's pretty, perfectly summery and the colours are not neon bright which is a trend i'm not keen on for clothing in summer.
The second dress was from select ( can you tell what shops are my favourite?) and i absolutely love this dress, it sits gorgeously and I could easily dress it either up or down for day or night time wear, and the lace detailing on the front trim of the dress is just amazingly cute, I think this was £14.

Made a visit to Superdrug on my travels ( hoe surprising) And picked up these three products.
The Rimmel Kate Moss Lasting Colour Lipsticks were on offer at £3.99 and as I love my matte kate moss lipstick how could I refuse, I picked up the gorgeous red shade 01, Despite my lipstick collection already 80% shades of red. I just couldn't risk and it was definitely a good call as I love it.
Next is another MUA nail varnish, in the shade bold blue this is a perfect colour for summer and I already have this on my nails as I type!
Last but not least was yet another can of Dry shampoo, I picked up Bastiste in a cherry scent, which I thought would be rather interesting to try as I usually go for the safe option of floral.

And that was that, a good few purchases to keep me satisfied... until next payday that is!
Get any nice summer buys recently?

Collective haul! Primark, Select, Superdrug, Etc..

So hi...

I may have been doing a few bits of shopping over the last few weeks, when I had my operation and was house bound for a week I took it as an opportunity to order a few bits online, so i could have some happiness in the form of parcels at my door! As well as that I have been in to town a lot over the Easter holidays and picked up a number of bits and bobs which I thought would be nice to show all together in a collective haul of all the things I've got!

So For Easter I got a £20 mall voucher from my dad as he doesn't buy me and my sisters chocolate, So I went to primark to pick up a few home bits for my self, the thought of Uni and my own place has recently made my interest in homey bits increase dramatically!

While In primark I picked up a few candles, recommended by my candle obsessed mother who swore to me that despite the price they were actually scented when you burnt them. And they actually do, I preferred the small pots at £1 each as you can probably tell from the photo, but the bigger vanilla and coconut candle at £2 was very nice also. I've made a mental note to collect a few more of these soon.
I also picked up some face clothes as I was lacking in them and primark was having a home sale event so they were only £1.50! nice.
On a separate trip I also picked up the much talked about, Garnier micellar cleansing water with some accompanying pads and oh my.
This bottle has changed my make-up removing laziness and I like to use it to cleanse my skin after using my Soap and glory peaches and clean as the micellar water leaves my skin feeling fantastic, so glad I followed the raves about this product!
This was a large group picture I took to show all the other its and bobs I've bought, Mostly through Easter presents and payday.
On the beauty side of things I picked up a few primark nails, after being slightly disappointed with some a while back I decided to try again after hearing lily melrose praise them, I picked up an adorable strawberry set and a cute daisy set.
Making a visit to superdrug, which I possibly do way too often (opps) I was on the hunt for a nice smelling body butter, After using up the small tub of strawberry body butter from the body shop, I just knew I could find another nice smelling cheap one and oh boy I did. This cherry and macadamia body butter smells divine and cost only £2! brilliant.
Also on the hunter for a face primer which I have been needed for a while I picked up MUA's offering at only £3 Why not. I had previously wanted to try the maybelline baby skin pore eraser but could not justify the spending at all!
Lastly I went to lush, uncertain of whether i wanted to buy anything. I've wanted the bubblegum scrub for a long while now but as lush is pretty expensive, I never really had the spare money, however after a little chat with one of the ladies who always seems to serve me the few times i do go there I took the plunge and went for it. I'm happy I did, before using this my lips that been in awful condition and it was really bothering me, now they feel soft and lovely. (plus it tastes amazing...)
Also in the photo at the top of the post you may have noticed a lip product, after much debate I picked up a Tanya burr lip gloss in the colour 'Vampire kiss' but I'll be posting about that shortly
On the fashion side of things, I may admit I am addicted to shirts and collars, my wardrobe is slowly being overtaken by them, But maybe that collection is a post for another time. The peachy shirt with the gorgeous black trim was a present from my mum, I do know she picked it up from select however, as I had been eyeing it up myself already.
I myself picked up the other two items, with the mint green cami top at £6 from select, I got it as I feel my wardrobe is really lacking in layering items and I could do with a few simple basics added to it. The other top is a black shirt that is slightly cropped with an adorable peter pan collar, the material of this one is also a bit usual for a shirt, more stretchy but still very very comfy.
This was a pretty simple purchase, I needed some more shoes and you can't go wrong with black plimsolls from primark, especially considering how cheap they are, as well as actually sturdy.
This is a better picture of the things I got for Easter, the striped clothing item you see is a long sleeved dress, However in my eagerness to wear it I didn't get a better picture and it seems to have disappeared in the wash! darn. it was around £5 from primark ( yet again)
Last but not least I got a new bag! this gorgeous browny-tan coloured satchel was only £9 from primark! can you believe it? £9! It's also very sturdy. Not at all thin of flimsy feeling like some bags you can find it primark, I've been using it for my college bag and it fits all my books in no problem. A bit more boringly I got some leggings as well as mine often seem to disappear in this house...

And that's all folks! quite a lot of stuff but I am rather happy with it all, I won't be able to do much more shopping anytime soon as large as what i've got here but It was nice to feel quite spoiled and do a lot of retail therapy
