A Positivity Journal

So hi...

Positivity is a big thing for me the last few months, trying to make my outlook on life more positive in all aspects of my life has been a long process for the last few months. I have a habit of getting down really quickly, it's not something I do on purpose but I tend to be quite sarcastic and sarky and it often seems like there is no much awful situations happening in the world, all this just makes it hard for me to sometimes see the nicer gestures and events in like. It's why my blog is called 'It's about the little things' as a personal reminder to myself as there's a lot of good in the world to and that I should learn to appreciate the smaller things in life.

So recently while I was buying notebooks and things for my uni lectures I was able to get a spare notebook as apart of a two for one deal, but I didn't really need it for anything and wasn't sure what to use it for.

Then the idea came to me to use it to note down favourite moments each month and plans to look forward to, as well as lists of my favourite things such as songs and quotes. And I thought to call it my Positivity journal. It's a little book that I can add to whenever something pops to mind, and to look back at and enjoy whenever I'm feeling a little bit down and the negativity of the world is feeling a little too much.

It's a decently big book which I've given each month every other page, with little lists in between and after a page for 2016 top memories and then bigger lists like 100 thing that make me happy and 101 favourite songs etc.

I'd definitely recommend having a place to just wrote down the small positive and happier moments in life.
Any lists you'd recommend for me? how do you stay positive?

My Own Box of Nostalgia

So hi...

As I'm turning 20 I always think back how much things have changed, reminiscing about toys and sweets that meant every thing to me in my 90s/early 00s childhood. Man Crates is a company which does wooden crates filled with goodies for guys where you open the boxes with a crowbar!
I thought it was a pretty cool idea and got me thinking, if I had my own crate to jump me back into my childhood. I contacted a week or so ago by Man Crates, asking what I would put into my own little crate of nostalgic goodies. This was the little info they gave me.

'We're mostly from the same generation here at Man Crates, mainly children of the 70's and 80's. One of our most popular items is actually our Old School Crate which is full of nostalgic items from decades past. Often we'll get lost in conversations about the memorable items from our childhood. Everything from the special foods we used to have, such as Jell-O Pudding Pops and Clear Pepsi, to the amazing "technological advances" like Betamax and the Sony Walkman. I'm reaching out to see if you'd be interested in writing a post sharing some of the essential items that would be in your "old school crate." We'd love to hear the key ingredients that made up your wonder years! '

BN biscuits. Because were these not the most tasty biscuits ever? and although they've come back since they just aren't the same. and who didn't get the bn bn song stuck in their head. no one.

Those Gooey Aliens Eggs: Oh How cool we all thought we were back in junior school, the person that 'knew' how to make these guys have babies was the king of the playground, and to this day I don'r know if that was a thing,

Turkey Twizzlers: These were heaven. Though Jamie Oliver caused the complete extinction of turkey twizzlers cause they were made of a lot of rubbish, I still dream about how good these tasted. I'm a Jamie Oliver fan but damn do I miss these.

Saved by the bell Boxset? Oh Boy did I love this show, not sure if you even can get a boxset but I religiously watched this show. Zach was my babe and everything I Wanted. and the show made me hope high school was really that cool. ( it wasn't ). It was a good'n.

Tamagotchi: This little device meant everything to kids when I was younger, I remember avoiding falling to sleep because I was worried about my tamagotchi pet dying while I was asleep, I was pretty into it, But even now I'd love to play and look after my own little guy.

That's what would make up my little crate of nostalgia, I'm sure I could think of more but these are definitely a few of  my favourite things from my childhood. Definitely check out Man Crates if you need help for present ideas for any men in your life, Maybe the old school crate, if not one of the many other crate themes they offer.
Here's the Link to their Gift for guys page in case you're interested!

The Monthly Round Up: June

So hi....

June has been a stupidly busy month for me, which you may have guessed from the severe lack of posting, which although I'm slightly annoyed at myself for I'm still amazingly happy with how my month has gone. It was completely full of going out, catching up with friends, hardly being home and a whole load of working. I've been working 2 jobs (which has just increased to 3) And trying to make the most of seeing friends as some of them were only home for the month of June and have already gone back to uni. So I hope you'll forgive me. June has honestly the best start of Summer I could have ever asked for, comfortably continuing what has been the best year of my life. I'm continuously reassured of my happiness with the closeness of my friendship group and the memories we've made. There's also been a lot of future talk within my friendship group, of how we can see ourselves as friends in the future, and how we would let our kids hang with any of our friends we have now, those talks feel so mature and make me so proud of my group of friends and how responsible we all are to do well in our own lives but still keep our friendships strong. If you didn't know, I have a group of about 10-14 friends who I've been close friends with for about 7 years now.

So yeah June was an amazing month, and although I'll be working my butt off, I hope July will be filled with just as much memories and adventure.

How was your June? did you miss me?

Slam Dunk South.

So Hi...

Last Sunday I was smart enough to have brought a ticket to attend Slam Dunk 2015 South. It's a smallish music festival that lasts a day and has 3 locations, North South and Midlands. North is at Leeds, Midlands at Wolverhampton and South, which is the one I attended at Hatfield. So this isn't at all going to be a beauty or fashion post and many of you will probably not be all that interested, but as this is my blog and I love writing lifestyle posts about things that I have enjoyed and has made me happy. So if you stick around and read this.. Thanks a lot!

So Slamdunk. I bought the after party ticket and went with 3 friends. We got there around 1 and had already decided to do our own thing. Our thoughts were that we could always just meet up with each other and why should we sacrifice seeing a band we really want to see because our friends don't want to? that's right we shouldn't.

The First thing I got to do was meet The band 'Neck Deep' and get there signatures which was super cool. They were the only one's I was able to get however as the Queues for the other two bands (Don Broco And While She Sleeps) Which was a little upsetting but you know.
I also got to see a number of bands during the day. I'll list them.

Set It Off- These I kinda only seen because we were waiting for the signings in a queue but they were pretty good, For the first band we heard they definitely put me in a good mood.

Beartooth- The First planned ban I wanted to see. I hadn't listen to these guys a huge amount but the atmosphere was amazing! and they played my favourite song!

Neck Deep- We were kinda chill while watching these guys, they were good and I thoroughly enjoyed listening to 'Part of me'.

Lower Than Atlantis- We kinda listened to these guys kinda didn't, we were sat to the left of the stage so we listened but we didn't really get to watch.

Don Broco Probably the Best Set of the day, we went into the crowd straight after lower than finished so we could get a good place right in the middle centre of the stage, we were also all dying to get our mosh on as well so then Don broco played it was an amazing experience! Loved it!

While She Sleeps- I was really glad I got to watch these guys although I only got to see about 30 minutes of their set, they definitely performed though, brilliant time.

Taking back Sunday- I only got to see the last song of these guys, but it was one of  my absolute favourites of theirs 'Make Damn Sure'

Youmeatsix- The Big headliners of the main stage. I fangirled hard. These guys were what I have consistently listened to for years! They also played a load of their older songs from the Take off your colours album which was absolutely amazing. They also were absolute champs and stopped the set early on as someone had collapsed, As josh said ' No Life is worth our little band playing some song' It meant we had to wait for 30 minutes for the set to continue but it was still amazing and the vibes continued as soon as they began playing again.

Now I was supposed to go to the after party as well but by the time the set had finished I was so tired, my feet were also killing me as I had gone out till 4am the night before, not the smartest move. But it was still absolutely amazing. It made me want to go to a lot more gigs as I forgot how much I enjoy them.

Do you enjoy going to see bands? what's your favourite?
